This review is from: The Temple: Meeting Place of Heaven and Earth (Art and Imagination) (Paperback)
John Lundquist has done some good work in the field of temple study and temple liturgy. This work, though well done, can best be seen as a good overview and introduction to temple liturgy and symbolism while not being boring. The included illustrations are well done.Mr. Lundquist gives an overview of temple liturgy and thought through a variety of cultures and religions. He covers common areas of thought and symbolism (the Tree of Life, Living Water, the Celestial Mount and ascent, the axis mundi, etc.). A good, and short, overview and introduction to temple thought and history. |
