In this book, Walter Lanyon reminds his readers that they are the temple not made with hands.
In this book, Walter Lanyon reminds his readers that they are the temple not made with hands.
Walter Lanyon was the author of over forty books on Truth which have had a wide and continued circulation. Though most of his books are now out of print, there remains a constant demand for them. He traveled and lectured all over the world, basing his lectures, as he said, solely on the revelation of Jesus Christ."
He felt that the very simplicity of the WORD was the point that baffled most Truth students. {In addition to his books, apparently Walter Lanyon wrote two light operas, many secular stories, plays and articles, all of which are now lost. This is also true of paintings he is said to have exhibited in Europe and the U.S.
I come not to destroy, but to fulfill. When it is once discovered and recognized as the point where the invisible becomes visible, comes not to destroy but to fulfill the vacuum of human thinking.
I come not to destroy your disease or belief, but to fulfill the temple and the dark shadows of belief with light. No matter how they have crystallized into ugly, immovable gargoyles of hard and fast laws, they will melt out of the picture. You do not care what became of them -- any more than the free bird cares for its shell once it has spread its wings. That outline that was itself egg crumbles into the dust and is no more, even as the thin outline or your horrible problem crumbles into nothingness and is no more. The thing that made a bird an egg is completely filled with life, and as the Lord is magnified within expands to the limit of the belief and shatters once and for always the belief in the egg.

Escaping our prison house into a new reality.,
By Jerry O (Detroit, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Temple Not Made With Hands (Paperback)
This is an excellent endeavor to describe that which can only be known by experience, the spiritual senses as the extension of our physical senses, seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and smelling. Mr. Lanyon describes how these spiritual senses are used to come into an intimate relationship with our heavenly Father through Christ Jesus and how these senses recognize the Presence of the Holy One.Mr. Lanyon explains how belief systems are insufficient to experience the Presence and how symbology is used to better aquaint man with the Oneness of all life. He explains that words, parables, books, lecturers, teachers, and organizations are but scaffolding around the true temple that is being built without hands. This scaffolding simply falls away when the revealed Presence in which we live, move, breath, and have our being is manifested. Mr. Lanyon also elaborates on how the Kingdom of God of which Jesus spoke so often about, is the fulfillment of our true destiny. This Kingdom must first be manifested within our consciousness. Our prison house of conscious-thinking, which is made up of our race, creed, education, birth, breeding, personality, etc., are but bars that keep us from knowing who we really are in Christ Jesus. The old consciousness-thinking, with its limitations, must give way in order that the New Vision without limitations may become real, just as a cocoon gives way to the new manifestation, the butterfly. The book is well written and can be read by anyone, however, it leans more toward the mature Christian who has experienced and began living in an intimate relationship with the Father through His Son.
