5.0 out of 5 stars Escaping our prison house into a new reality., November 22, 1999

This review is from: The Temple Not Made With Hands (Paperback)
This is an excellent endeavor to describe that which can only be known by experience, the spiritual senses as the extension of our physical senses, seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and smelling. Mr. Lanyon describes how these spiritual senses are used to come into an intimate relationship with our heavenly Father through Christ Jesus and how these senses recognize the Presence of the Holy One.

Mr. Lanyon explains how belief systems are insufficient to experience the Presence and how symbology is used to better aquaint man with the Oneness of all life. He explains that words, parables, books, lecturers, teachers, and organizations are but scaffolding around the true temple that is being built without hands. This scaffolding simply falls away when the revealed Presence in which we live, move, breath, and have our being is manifested.

Mr. Lanyon also elaborates on how the Kingdom of God of which Jesus spoke so often about, is the fulfillment of our true destiny. This Kingdom must first be manifested within our consciousness. Our prison house of conscious-thinking, which is made up of our race, creed, education, birth, breeding, personality, etc., are but bars that keep us from knowing who we really are in Christ Jesus. The old consciousness-thinking, with its limitations, must give way in order that the New Vision without limitations may become real, just as a cocoon gives way to the new manifestation, the butterfly.

The book is well written and can be read by anyone, however, it leans more toward the mature Christian who has experienced and began living in an intimate relationship with the Father through His Son.
