A very funny book related in a deadpan way, August 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Temporarily Yours (1) (Paperback)
This is a very funny book related in a deadpan way by a wacky woman who worked as a temporary secretary under tqwenty agencies. Whew! And the stories she tells are right out of Beverly Hills mythology of uproarious folks who know from nothing except how to make fortunes. A director of new product development for a computer firm thought of her as a spy. The stories are quick takes, usually less than a page. "As a temp, I gained culture while avoiding cult." quote by Perkins. This woman is hilarious. And a very good read. She also happens to have an MBA and worked as an institutional stockbroker. And she has some very good thoughts. "Allow yourself to receive what is good and remember that you deserve it." A parting shot: "One morning I woke up with my jaw frozen shut on one side." Whew! Business as she is lived.

A Very Interesting Woman, December 28, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Temporarily Yours (1) (Paperback)
I have not read this book yet, but I recently had Ms. Perkins as a substitute teacher. I am a high school student in an Honors English class, that had the pleasure of meeting her. She sat down, and discussed with a few other students and I about temp jobs, and TV/Radio appearances she made. I just want to say that I think that she's an awesome woman, and I look forward to reading her book.

Did not enjoy, February 3, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Temporarily Yours (1) (Paperback)
I didn't like this book. The stories were too short, lacking in detail and just plain boring in my opinion. I struggled to stay interested and gave up half-way through.
