Love their last album and this one is just as dope... maybe a little bit more sophisticated. THE END.

A sleeker and more polished Disco,

Simian Mobile Disco is back! If you loved Attack Decay Sustain Release you'll pretty much know what to expect with Temporary Pleasure.
The big difference here is where Attack Decay Sustain Release was a big beat dance assault on the order of Justice or Chemical Brothers, Temporary Pleasure is a more subdued tech-house dance album on the order of recent Swayzak or Altogether/Blue Album Orbital. Yet both CDs have their share of gems and turds yet the gems outshine the turds on Temporary Pleasure. Gems: 10000 Horses Can't De Wrong is definitely one of the highlights here. Off the Map, the Jamie Lidell track is pure disco bliss. The vocal break on Synthesise makes me laugh uncontrollably, but in a good way. Turds: Turn Up the Dial, "The girls from Jupiter drive me wild"? Really? Cream Dream because it's a cheesy in a 70s synthesized prog-rock kind of way, and Pinball because it sort of has a chill M.I.A. sound to it and I'm not into her (although friends I know who are into Telepathe love this track). Temporary Pleasure is a slick, smooth, and extremely polished sophomore release. Bravo!

I know we're not supposed to call it 'techno' anymore but I just don't care. Suffice it to say fans of interesting, exciting and well produced dance music will find many tracks to love on this disc.
Simian Mobile Disco provide consistently entertaining music full of interesting sounds and hypnotic beats. Sadly the special edition comes in a round can. While the packaging is a little unusual it's also irritating and largely pointless (it's easier to extract your discs from a regular jewel case).
