Book Description

1990
All alone... on her honeymoon! When Lorna Smith found herself in that predicament, she knew it was time for a change. So to ease her left-at-the-altar blues, the plain, practical bookstore owner let down her hair, kicked up her heels -- and a new, slightly naughty Lorna was ready to take on the world.... And that included Adam Gantry. The downright uptight lawyer thought Lorna was a sultry siren, and when he took her in his arms she almost believed it herself! For once in her staid life, Lorna was playing the seductress -- but what would happen when Adam was faced with the plain truth...? Runaway brides: These brides are on the loose -- but will love bring them back to the altar?

5.0 out of 5 stars Fairy Godmother and cross country fun, April 24, 2008
I wish this book was longer than the usual little Silhouette book. Lorna Smith, a mousy little librarian from LA gets jilted by her fiance, but decides to go on her honeymoon anyway. Her friend, Astrid, from her support group gives her a makeover and some good mood lifting advice.
Enter Adam Gantry, a type A lawyer from LA, out searching for his mother, who doesn't want to be found. The mother turns out to be Lorna's secret sister. This ends up bringing Lorna and Adam together, as they chase across the country looking for Astrid.
What makes this book so very charming is the transformation that Lorna sees in herself from frumpy to fabulous. I wish every woman had an Astrid!

5.0 out of 5 stars Temporary Temptess, May 16, 2000
By A Customer
This book is from "Here Come the Grooms" series and is a "Runaway Brides" selection. It was a cute story and enjoyable book. Lorna Smith and Adam Gantry are thrown together by Adam's mother Astrid. Astrid is Lorna's secret sister and the story is based on the support group that both belong to. Adam is a cute main character, Lorna is a fun one and they have a good time learning to love each other. It was a good read!
