Etienne De Crecy - Tempovision Remixes,
This review is from: Tempovision Remixes (Audio CD)
Etienne De Crécy, 1/2 of the famed French Motorbass crew, lets his _Tempovision_ label into the hands of his French compatriots for some house-related mischief. Alex Gopher makes "Noname" into a spry little number (with the requisite Motorbass bassline), while Play Paul goes for a much more percussion-heavy mix of "When Jack Met Jill." Demon manages to wrench soul out of the hissing machinery of "Scratched," and "Rhythm & Beat," tricked out by Les Diamantaires and Kool G, is nothing but smooth. Although De Crecy's own mix of "Relax" is, not surprisingly, relaxing enough, it still retains its dancefloor kick. The same goes for his Mooloodjee mix of "Am I Wrong?," a loopy, filtered affair. The radio edit of "Tempovision" reminds us all what a bright, shiny piece of downtempo that track is. The French touch still seems to be alive and kicking.
