Cool Power Pop,

This review is from: Le Temps Du Tempo (Audio CD)
Nice songs and what's more, interesting production, often a lost art in this genre (with the exception of Sloan, The Beltways and Splitsville, all worth checking out !). I bought this CD after reading a review in Option magazine. They seemed right up my alley, and my hunch was correct. The observation another reviewer made about the sound being like The Beatles meet The Velvet Underground is pretty accurate. There is a certain guitar thing here and there that reminds me of The Smiths' Johnny Marr occasionally. Not much in the way of solos, but great rhythm guitar is the key here.I'd like to hear more from these guys !

An unbelievable hidden treasure,

United States Three deliver unbelievably melodic pop -- absolutely magical stuff.. Steeped in dreamy 60s pop structures, but totally non-retro or kitschy. Sort of Beatles meets an idealized Velvets meets The Left Banke meets a modish Beck meets sunshine..

Why Is United Staes Three So Good?,

This review is from: Le Temps Du Tempo (Audio CD)
After hearing the great "She's the Word" by United States Three, i couldn't imagine a second album as extraordinary as this. But I was proved wrong by Le Temps Du Tempo. This album's definate roots are in French pop, which is obvious because of the title. Everyone should buy this cd.

a great album from a great band i came across in 1995 while they were opening up for juliana hatfield. vess ruhtenberg, an ex-member of antenna, puts forth everything he has in an excellent second album. if you dont have this album, or their first album, "shes the word" i suggest getting them right away. if this band comes and plays anywhere around you....go see them!!!!!!! great show.

I happened across a United States Three show in Chicago last year. I loved the band and purchased this record. Le temps de tempo quickly became one of my all time favorites. I listen to it almost everyday. If you like pop music you'll love this. le temps du tempo is also an amazing "headphone" record -- there is some crazy stuff buried in there if you listen closely. If you like the Goo Goo dolls, Sloan, Velvet Underground, then you need to add this to your collection.

Frontman Vess Rhutenburg may not rock as hard as he used to but his beautiful melodies and crack studio production is right out of the McCartney handbook.

The US3 delivers one of the best power pop records,

On Le Temps du Tempo the United States Three delivers song after song of nonstop pop. With more production and attention to detail, Le temps du tempo towers over it's predecessor, she's the word, with more monster hooks and songs that are guaranteed to stick in your head. Watch out for this band in the new millenium, they're going to be huge.
