This is one of those books that I feel happy to recommend to a host of different readers. It is a solid outdoors adventure perfect for the injured outdoors-person. It has a great "family feel" to it, so traditional folks like "Grandma" would find it enjoyable. FInally a strong, capable teen character (and very limited sensuality) creates
a sure fire winner for the YA reader. That said, it was a little dry for me. The lead female is capable but almost "stunted" in her ability to interact with a male. Still it was a great adventure story--less of a romance.

Ben Sinclair just found out that he has a son, so he's heading to Medicine Gore, Maine to meet him. Emma Sands has been raising her nephew Michael by herself since her sister, Michael's mother, disappeared ten years ago. Michael is fifteen now and becoming a fine young man, but Emma knows he could use a father's guidance as well.

As if meeting his son and seeing Emma again after he left town fifteen years ago isn't enough of a shock, Ben learns that the town thinks he's responsible for Emma's father's death. Ben has a lot to prove to his son and to Emma, but someone wants him gone and they'll stop at nothing to keep him from finding out the truth.

Ben has his work cut out for him in Tempt Me if You Can. Not only does he have to win his son over, but Emma, too, and then he has the whole town to face. My heart broke for Emma, though as she faced the possibility of losing Michael and an unknown future for them both. What she has to do and what she wants to do are two different things. Her emotions are tangible. Along with a cast of colorful characters, Tempt Me if You Can has many furry friends who enlighten the story as much as the people do. After the excitement is over, Ben and Emma have a fun and fitting wedding. Tempt Me if You Can is a passionate and emotional love story.

Shipping mogul Ben Sinclair receives an anonymous letter that claims he sired a son sixteen years ago. Stunned, Ben drops everything to rush to rural Medicine Gore, Maine to learn the truth whether he left Kelly Sands pregnant before she dumped him abruptly.

Arriving in Maine, Ben learns that Kelly vanished a decade ago and her younger sister Emma has raised her nephew Michael. He conceals his identity while registering as a guest at Emma's sporting camp because he fears he will not be welcomed especially with his explosive past. Michael quickly realizes his beloved aunt and his biological father are attracted to one another even as they argue, fuss, and fight. As the adults fall in love, the past explodes in the present.

The second Sinclair sibling story (see The Man Must Marry for Sam's tale) is an engaging contemporary romance that focuses on Ben being unaware until now that he has a teenage son. Although the premise of an unknown offspring is not new (see A Corner of the Universe by Rebbie Macintyre, for instance) the cast makes for a fine tale. Fans will relish the romance between the father and the aunt, manipulated by a clever teen as the past and present collide in Maine with the impact being everyone's future if they survive some late suspense.

This was my first romance i have ever read.
And All I can say is that it took me away into the world of Benjamin Sinclair, and I loved it.
This book you can read over and over and each time it is as good as the first time you read it.

I absolutely love Janet Chapman books! So this one is no different! She has an interesting writing style that carries you away book after book! :o) Love ya Janet!

I think Janet does a wonderful work, keeping you hooked and turning the nest page. I think they call that hooking the reader which she does really well. It was an easy read too which I like as I can finish a book much sooner and enjoy it more. She is brilliant in the sexy scenes, almost like you could feel it yourself. She will go a long way in writing. Loved that book and am looking for more of her work.

Tempt Me if You Can by Janet Chapman is a continuation to the series, this one revolves around Emma, Ben and Mike. The plot was entertaining and unique, the characters were well developed and interesting and the book as a whole was a page turner.

Emma Sands has taken care of her nephew Mike since he was born, but when he was 5yrs old his mother left leaving a young Emma to raise him all by herself. Now 10 years later the two have become closer then ever and run a hunting/cabin business in a small town.

Benjamin Sinclair is heir to a shipping business, when one day he gets a letter telling him he has a son he know it's true. The first thing he does is get on a plan to go meet his son, but the last time he was in the small town the people thought he was responsible for a bombing that killed a man.

What the two never expected to happen was to fall in love, and then have to figure out who has been using the woods that surrounds the cabins and for what. It may just kill them both.

A wonderful romance story with great writing and an interesting storyline.

Ben discovers that he has a son whom he has never laid eyes on. He is a good man and wants to repay his once lover, Emma, for all that she has done for their child. Emma is hard headed and doesn't want Ben interrupting their life. When some secrets start to reveal themselves, Ben knows that it is his duty to protect his son and the mother of his child. Emma isn't too thrilled with the idea at first, but she soon learns that there are some things she can't do all on her own.

I wouldn't say that this is one of my favorite books but it was definitely worth reading. I could really relate to Emma which made the book a lot of fun. I don't know how she kept Ben at bay for so long though. I think I have a crush on his character.

Ben Sinclair receives a letter that turns his world upside down. The letter is postmarked from Medicine Gore. It is unsigned. The contents of the letter inform Ben that he is the father of a fifteen year old boy named, Michael. Ben hires an investigator and discovers that the letter is true. He is a father. Ben fell in love with a girl named Kelly, who is Michael's mother. Kelly disappeared ten years ago, leaving Michael to be raised by his Aunt Emma.

Ben returns to Medicine Gore but not under good circumstances. Emma remembers Ben and has her guard up about him. Ben may be Michael's father but Emma is the one that raised Michael and she won't let him go without a fight.

Tempt Me If You Can did tempt me some. It is also book two of the Sinclair brothers' novels. I thought the chemistry shared between Ben and Emma was nice but I was wanting more passion between them. I did like how Ben and Michael bonded quickly. Ben really stepped up as a father figure for Michael. There was a good storyline that took place in this book besides just the romance with Emma and Ben. I don't want to give anything away but the ending had a nice twist to it.

Janet Chapman's Tempt Me If You Can is a fun contemporary romance!

Ben Sinclair, the romantic lead, is likable from the start. Upon discovering that he has an illegitimate son, his first reaction is to investigate and then to acknowledge the son. He travels to Maine, treading carefully, and slowly reveals his identity - he takes care not to disrupt his son's life. Gorgeous, considerate, filthy rich, and a respected force in the business world, it's easy to fall in love with Ben Sinclair! Meanwhile, Emma Sands is equally endearing - she takes on her older sister's obligations and raises her nephew as her own. Emma is independent, intelligent, protective, beautiful and level headed. We are rooting for Emma and Ben from the very start!

As Emma, Ben, and Ben's young son Michael slowly get to know each other, they come across a dangerous secret. Their group approach to the problem draw you in to the action - and make this book a fun, romantic read! I very much enjoyed Tempt Me If You Can. It'll provide a nice, fun escape on a rainy evening or a day at the beach!
