The Temptation continues the sagas of Haven, Nebraska, visitors Julia, Kathy, Del, and Walter as they live out the commitments they made in The Quest. Now successful in their separate pursuits, the Havenites think all is going well-and therein lies great danger. As complacency attacks the characters' focus on God, they start believing their achievements have risen from their own savvy and power. When Del decides to organize a reunion, the characters face Satan's chaotic interference and learn the true nature of temptation: inevitable, subtle, biting, and potentially disastrous. They must recover their courage to live out their plea to the Lord: "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. . . ."

More About the Author

Nancy Moser is the award-winning author of over twenty novels that focus on the characters discovering their unique purpose. Her genres include both contemporary and historical stories. Her latest release "An Unlikely Suitor" was named to Booklist's "Top 10 Romance Novels of 2011". Both "An Unlikely Suitor" and "Masquerade" are set in the Gilded Age of New York City (see a book trailer for "Masquerade" below.) Coming out in 2012 is a Christmas/Quilt antholgy,"A Patchwork Christmas", containing three novellas by Moser, Stephanie Grace Whitson, and Judith Miller. Moser's contemporary books are known for their big-cast utilization of multiple points-of-view and intricate plotting. Some titles are "John 3: 16", "The Sister Circle", "The Good Nearby", and "The Invitation." Her historical bio-novels allow real women-of-history to share their life stories: "Just Jane" (Jane Austen), "Mozart's Sister" (Nannerl Mozart), "Washington's Lady" (Martha Washington) and "How Do I Love Thee?" (Elizabeth Barrett Browning.) Her time-travel novel, "Time Lottery", won a Christy Award and "Washington's Lady" was a finalist. Nancy and her husband Mark live in the Midwest. She's earned a degree in architecture, traveled extensively in Europe, and has performed in numerous theaters, symphonies, and choirs. She gives Said So Sister Seminars around the country, helping women identify their gifts as they celebrate their sisterhood. She paints canes voraciously, kills all her houseplants, and can wire an electrical fixture without getting shocked. She is a fan of anything antique--humans included. 5.0 out of 5 stars Caring About Characters, August 24, 2000
By
Katy McKenna (Kansas City, MO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Temptation (The Mustard Seed Series #3) (Paperback)
I've now read all three of the books in the Mustard Seed series. The thing that's most impressed me with The Temptation is how much I've come to care for the characters. The Invitation made me want to slap Walter for being such a dolt, but now, oh dear, he's reminding me of someone I know...guess who? I'm glad God shows him so much mercy in The Temptation, since I am in need of so much myself. Maybe I'm just slow to empathize with characters, or maybe Nancy Moser has hit her stride. At any rate, I NEED Book 4 ASAP in order to keep tabs on these flawed but forgiven human beings. Don't resist The Temptation to read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, June 12, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Temptation (The Mustard Seed Series #3) (Paperback)
This book is very well written. I was having a hard time aand I was also wondering what I was doing for God in my life. I love to read but I hadn't found any good books in a long while. I stumbled upon this one. I related to the characters. Nacy Moser writes about real people in real situations. Some people think that I am crazy but I really believe that situations in this book can really happen. The trials in this book made me realize so many things about who I am and made me remember what I had learned while away at Youth With A Mission. This is a great read for any and all who want a good read but also want to grow in their relationship with Christ.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book, August 10, 2000
By
Cynthia Long (Cardington, Ohio USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Temptation (The Mustard Seed Series #3) (Paperback)
This book was just as exciting and uplifting as the first two books. Nancy Moser is wonderful at sharing a spiritual warfare story that is interesting, has scripture in it, and makes you not want to put it down. This is an excellent book and I can't wait for more.
