3.0 out of 5 stars Not so hot....
If you really want to read something with steam, get BEYOND SEDUCTION by Emma Holly and if you want to read some scalding literature get OLDE HOLLYWOOD by Thorne Peters. This book was fairly hot, but, forgive me for saying this, the writing was very elementary and not compelling.

This review is from: Too Much Temptation (Paperback)
The last thing Noah Harper expects to find is his fiancée in bed with another man. He can't seem to get angry about it; instead he feels only relief. Because Noah and Kara's families have a history together and his grandmother adores Kara, Noah takes the blame for calling off the wedding so that Kara won't suffer through a scandal. Now Noah decides all he wants is a hot and heavy affair with some woman, any woman, to make up for the less than hot times he ever had in Kara's bed. And this woman must play by all of his rules, at least in the bedroom.

Grace Jenkins is Noah's grandmother's personal assistant and has been half in love with Noah for three years. Hardly experienced with men, and possessing a less than favorable opinion about her full-figured looks, Grace can't believe it when Noah proposes they carry on an affair after he breaks up with his fiancée. Grace, however, just can't say no to the man she's pined for all this time. Noah also makes her feel incredibly sexy and beautiful.

What follows is a story that has it all! Lori Foster shines as she breathes incredible and realistic life into Noah, Grace, and all of the secondary characters. Everyone has an integral part in the storyline, from Noah's ditzy former fiancée to his sarcastically funny and adorable brother, Ben. And the grandmother? Well, she just wants what's best (or what she thinks is best) for her grandson and isn't beyond a bit of manipulation in order to get it. Conflict and humor abound among all, but I most connected and sympathized with Grace. Grace is a "real" woman, inside and out, in my opinion. She only lets Noah THINK he's the boss, which leads to some hysterically funny and poignant scenes.

TOO MUCH TEMPTATION is a delicious story about two people who are so opposite from each other, they're just perfect together. Lori Foster is a master at delivering smart, sensuous, snappy dialogue and intense emotion when the readers -- and the characters -- least expect it. Ms. Foster yet again proves herself as one of the romance industry's most beloved authors with this insightful, explicitly sexy, yet highly emotional and poignant tale.

TOO MUCH TEMPTATION is a definite candidate for keeper shelves everywhere. It goes right to the top of my list of best reads for 2002.

There is only one word that kept coming to my mind while reaing TOO MUCH TEMPTATION, that word was WOW! This book deserves a higher sensuality rating than 10. I thought Caught in the Act was good until a friend gave me TMT to read.

Grace and Noah were the perfect couple and they sizzled on every page. Just from the eye contact between the two, you knew there would be red hot passion when they came together. Even though Grace was a virgin, she had loved Noah since she first laid eyes on him. Grace wasn't model thin and she thought therefore not perfect, so she never expected Noah to even look at her twice. Boy did she have it wrong. Noah being the man that he was let her know repeatedly and in every way imaginable that he liked her just the way she was, not skinny not fat but beautifully voluptuous and he wanted to taste and experience every inch of her. (pant, pant)
This story was not only sexy it was funny. Thanks in part to Noah's equally handsome brother, Ben.
Just let me say this, BUY THE BOOK! Once I started, there was no putting it down. There was not a dull page in the entire book! That's right 280 pages of sheer entertainment.
Alright Ms. Foster, when are we going to get Ben's story? I can just imagine the type woman to finally capture his eye and his heart. Let it be soon. Okay?

5.0 out of 5 stars Too Much Temptation is over the top!!, March 4, 2002
By
This review is from: Too Much Temptation (Paperback)
Lori Foster just continues to get better and better, and in Too Much Temptation she delivers another 100% read. Grace Jenkins is a lady who alot of us can relate to; she's not perfect! She's shy, she feels like she's overweight, she's not completely satisfied in her job, and she has the hots for her boss's grandson (who just happens to be engaged) in the worst sort of way. She thinks Noah wouldn't notice her if she walked around naked!
Noah Harper is the perfect grandson--he runs his grandmother's business, is engaged to a woman his grandmother loves, and pretty much falls in with his grandmother's every wish. Until he finds his oh so perfect fiancee cheating on him! Then he starts thinking about it--did he ever really ask her to marry him, or did they just fall into it? He feels relief that he's not caught in the relationship anymore, instead of the despair he should be feeling. But his grandmother is not happy when she hears he's cut off the engagement!!
Grace, being the wonderful person she, rushes to Noah to offer her comfort and her support--never dreaming that while she's there, and inebrieated Noah will clue her into some fantasies he's been having about her?! This leads to Grace and Noah embarking on a sensual journey to experience anything and everything they can--but it will only be sex.
Lori WOW's us with this story--it starts out with a bang, and doesn't let up for the entire story! Noah and Grace just ignite sparks off one another, and there is real emphasis on Noah liking Grace just the way she is. You can feel their relationship with one another build, and the SEX! Wow--it is sexy, sensual, and sweet. Her charachters are so real, true to life that they could walk off the page, and I wouldn't be suprised. While she has this wonderful, macho hero, she shows us his vulnerabilities, and his struggle to find the right answer within himself. I loved every second of this book, and can't wait for the sequel for the brother, Ben, who contributes some very witty dialogue!! Way to go, Lori!!!
Don't pass this book up, folks! This is a keeper!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chubby Chicks, rejoice!, May 22, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Too Much Temptation (Paperback)
Finally, an author has written a romance novel featuring a large woman who actually seems to be a LARGE woman, not the typical 10 pounds overweight "large" woman of much modern romantic fiction. Lori Foster gives us a heroine named Grace who is shy and uncertain of herself as a woman because of her looks. Who hasn't been there? Then, because this IS a romantic fantasy, Foster gives her (and we lucky readers)the perfect man in Noah: handsome, virile, and kind, he's actually attracted to both her sweet nature and her full figure. Did I mention this was a romantic fantasy?

...the scene where he awakens with a hangover and sees a very large white cotton bra made me laugh out loud. The scene where she is ashamed to reveal her dress size for the waitress uniform will resonate with any plus size female who's had to work in the fast food or maid service industry during college. The scene where Noah catches her in her too-snug uniform and teases her out of it will make you wish those things happened in real life.

The plot is slight, but Foster infuses it with genuinely funny scenes and some very hot [moments] between Noah and Grace. He's insaitable, she's always well-pleasured, and the reader gets busy dog-earing pages!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and hot enough to scald:), July 8, 2002
This review is from: Too Much Temptation (Paperback)
This was my first experience with Lori Foster (even though I discovered since this reading I had several books sitting unread with novellas she'd written in collection style books). I picked up Too Much Tempation at my local bookstore after reading the back cover. I am so thrilled I gave this book a chance.

This story is about Noah Harper (Gorgeous, rich and not exactly at the best place in his life romantically, you'll find that out in the book). Now, enter Grace Jenkins (Plump, insecure in her appearance and totally in love with Noah Harper who she worships from afar). Grace is a fun character she knows what she wants, but at times doesn't go about it as she probably should. It's fantastic to find Grace, the non-typical female lead character she's plump as I mentioned and she knows it, I loved that I could relate to her. Her emotions of what someone who isn't a Size 2,4,6 considers when looking for love had me cheering her on! She's funny and her interactions with Noah and his half brother Ben (also gorgeous and single making me eager for the next book Never Too Much) had me laughing at times.

This book is just what I was looking for in a romance with great heat. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen with Grace and Noah. Their chemistry was great and gave me the little emotional tugs a good romance can give it warms you up and lightens your day.

And this book doesn't end at the bedroom door fade out scene, which I am happy to find along with a story I enjoyed.

Now, I'm hooked on Lori Foster I've read several more of her books since this reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lori Foster Scores a "10", August 10, 2002

Avid Reader (PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Too Much Temptation (Paperback)
Curiosity about what my wife and mother-in-law found so fascinating motivated me to read my first romance novel. I've been hooked for over 10 years now, and have read countless books, but of all these only a few really stand out; Lori Foster's Too Much Temptation is definitely such a read. I found this book enjoyable because the characters, Grace and Noah, were so believable and so real. It was unusual in that Grace is an atypical romance novel heroine, she's a full-figured woman somewhat lacking in confidence and overly conscious about body image. While Grace may not have been the lithe model type that society tells us is an ideal, she is supportive and loyal when Noah encounters troubles with a cheating fiancée and a grandmother who is supportive of her. Loyalty, support, and caring - more than a size 6 dress size - is what it's really about, and Noah finds himself increasingly attracted to Grace. Noah does try to fight his amorous feelings but his love for her builds as does the fire so typical of a Lori Foster book.

This is a great book that I couldn't put down. I couldn't help but root for Grace and enjoyed seeing her character develop in confidence and in the realization that she was on par with any other woman by any measure. One anticipates the outcome as a sexual relationship builds to so much more. As a man this book validates what men know but, unfortunately, due to societal stereotypes, might not readily admit: a woman's real attraction comes from within... I've known many women who weren't models, but who were - and are! - tremendously sexy! Grace Jenkins is just such a woman...

5.0 out of 5 stars YOU'LL LOVE IT! A book to read over and over and over..., August 9, 2002

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Too Much Temptation (Paperback)
Lori Foster was a new author to me and this is the first of her books I bought and read. Liked the title, thought what the heck.
Was I surprised. WOW!

In 99.9% of all "romance novels" the lead heroine is PERFECT. Cute, petite, so on and so forth. Like most American women, GRACE could be a real person who lives next door. She's not perfect, doesn't see herself as a 10. Sort of attrative, but a little overweight or so she see's herself. She's got some confidence but is naiive and a novice where affairs are concerned. You and I could be friends with her. Her love for Noah is believeable. And TA-DA she finds herself involved with him -- but only a sexual affair - no strings. HA! Yea, Right! There's some conflict, of course! Noah's Grandmother is a pill but not really mean. Noah's ex-fiance has a secret she's keeping from everyone...Noah knows it, Grace knows part of it...you may guess.

Noah's brother is a honey and you'll want to know more about him...believe me. Did Lori write a book about him?? I hope so.

Its very well written and BELIEVEABLE (something I always long for in fiction - and rarely find.)Depressed...read this book. Feeling out of sorts...READ THIS BOOK. THANK YOU LORI FOSTER!!

I loved this book! From the moment I picked it up I was totally wrapped up in this story. The characters were so well written and it was nice to see the female ones based more in reality. Lori Foster should be praised to the highest degree for using a female character without the "barbie doll" look. I have read hundreds of books and I must say that Grace is one of my all time favorite heroines. She has guts, senuality, a loving heart and a loyalty to Noah that every man should experience. Speaking of Noah-every woman should be so lucky as to have this man in their life, but most especially in their bed! HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
Using the word erotic doesn't seem enough to define these two between the sheets-or any other place for that matter. This book is so hot the cover may melt in your hands before you finish!
Lori Foster, you are wonderful! Keep up the great work!!

Good book, great book!! I am an avid reader of romance books but lately I have become somewhat disgusted with them. I mean really, are these authors writing for grown women who've experienced real love and sex, or little girls? Not so with Too much temptation!! It has everything--romance, great love scenes, and charming characters. Grace has had a crush on Noah for a long time, but he has yet to notice her in the past. He finds out his fiancee is cheating and breaks off the engagement, and Grace rushes to his side to offer comfort. Well, she offers more than comfort actually. I like this book because it doesn't beat around the bush. It goes right into the story, and I love the fact that Grace does not try to hide her feelings for Noah like most heroines do in other books. The love scenes are great, romantic, and ohhhhh so good. I felt my heart melt with this one! I could not put it down. It really touches a woman's soul. Ms Foster is now my new favorite author. If you like great romance and steamy sex--then this one's a WINNER!!!

Kensington couldn't have chosen a better author, or a better book, for their first contemporary Brava. TOO MUCH TEMPTATION proves that an author can create a truly erotic story without relying on artificial props, extra partners or half the positions in the Kama Sutra, while maintaining a thoroughly satisfying romance. For all its earthy sensuality, TOO MUCH TEMPTATION stands out not because of an abundance of sexual scenarios, but because of its complex, realistic characters and Ms. Foster's ability to make the ordinary extraordinary. Grace is no raging beauty, possesses no super genius intellect, nor other outstanding talents, and yet she shines, commanding Noah's complete attention. The reader understands his utter fascination with her and believes. And it's that fascination with Grace, not his handsome looks or carnal nature, that makes Noah such a wonderful hero. For he doesn't love Grace in spite of her size, choosing to overlook or forgive her for it, while secretly wishing she'd drop a few sizes. His attitude demonstrates that weight does not define or limit attraction and sexuality, a truth which average or overweight people will appreciate. By publishing the smart, warm, laugh-out-loud funny (and, oh yeah, incredibly hot *g*), TOO MUCH TEMPTATION, Kensington has taken a step that will surely lead the Brava line, and Ms. Foster, straight to the top.
