5.0 out of 5 stars ;0)
I LOVED this book a breath of fresh air for me. Elle and Dominic was truly meant for each other and I love that Dominic did not start the relationship until after opening night but love it love the concept of her being an opera singer keeping fingers cross that there will be a story with the best friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Sims novel, June 26, 2010

This review is from: Temptation's Song (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm excited about the upcoming novels that Ms. Sims will craft for Elle Jones' friends, Patrice Sutton in movies and Belana Whitaker in classical dance. If the novels are as creatively wonderful as "Temptation's Song" is, it was be tough waiting until they are in the book stores.

Ms. Sims has this gift to include family ties that demonstrate the ability to make us understand how difficult it is for a single mother to raise her daughter. This is true in "Seduced By Moonlight," another Sims novel where several generations of women successfully raised their daughters alone. And in Dominic's family well balanced parents and siblings though multicultural. She also gave us a strong, independent woman in Elle Jones and a very secure and manly man in Dominic Corelli as she did with Sonny and Jonas, respectively, in "Three Wishes."

For the first book in the trilogy, again we are off to explore an exciting county, Italy, as we did in "For Your Love" in Ethiopia. I love that Ms. Sims is a stickler for details and that she makes her characters multi-dimensional. Elle is an opera singer with a range that permits her to sing in other musical genre. Dominic is an operatic composer.

Molte grazie, Ms. Sims, for yet another novel with unique characters, interesting locals, and a fantastic story line. Bellissimo!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Janice Sims Never Disappoints, September 17, 2010
By
This review is from: Temptation's Song (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Janice Sims has been one of my most favorite authors for over a decade. Whether she's writing about marine biologists, wineries, or the opera, her level of expertise is always conveyed effortlessly through her writing and she is always able to combine culture and knowledge with romance. I always learn something new when I read a Janice Sims book and Temptation's Song was no different.

I was hooked on Elle and Dominic from the very beginning and their romance and mutual respect was beautifully written. In addition, the imagery and descriptions really helped me visualize the opera and the streets and cafes in Italy, not to mention the countryside. I haven't been able to curl up with a good book in a long time and stories like Temptation's Song remind me of what I've been missing.

Janice Sims' books always put me in a good mood so if you're a book lover then I encourage you to give it a read, especially if you're having a bad day because one you get started, you'll forget all about it. ;-)

4.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 4.5) - A Vacation To Sing About, July 22, 2010

This review is from: Temptation's Song (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Having graduated from Julliard's Performing School of Arts in New York City Elle Jones, an aspiring opera soloist and two of her best friends are vacationing in Italy. As luck or fate would have it, world renowned producer, Dominic Corelli is holding open auditions for the production of his new opera, Temptation, at the famous venue La Scala.

Elle auditions, after all she has nothing to lose; she is cast as the lead. While this opus points Elle towards the pinnacle of her career desires, Dominic arouses other desires that are new to her. Elle knows she's playing with fire, but Dominic's haunting melody of seduction is just the extinguisher she needs.

Dominic is considered one of Italy's most eligible and unattainable bachelors and his love of music has been his mistress. Elle has tempted more than his musical interests, her voluptuous beauty has captivated him. But, Dominic knows all to well to act on his emotions would jeopardize her chance at being taken seriously as an artist. Can he back off and prove he cast her for her voice and not to fulfill his desires? Can Elle endure his seeming disinterest and still capture her dream? Will Italy be the same?

TEMPTATION'S SONG is warm, full-bodied, and filled with sweet promise. The characters are simple and real. No over the top drama to drive the story, just soul stirring music and heartfelt emotions that take readers on a tempting ride. This is the beginning of what I know will be an enticing trilogy. Great start.

Janice Sims' work is new to me. I just wanted to say, this sister has skills.

I just loved the story. The characters were so real. I'm looking forward to more excellent stories by this young lady! The story was so sexy and exciting. I read the book in one night! I wish that I could have come across a tall, fine, black man when I was in Italy years ago. I highly recommend this book to readers of true romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Temptation's Song well sung!!!, July 11, 2010
This review is from: Temptation's Song (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed this heart felt book about keeping your eye on the prize and winning a little something extra along the way. A good looking hot intelligent multicultural man-and him speaking italian sure didn't hurt. Very well written kept my interest and really had good secondary characters, that I can't wait for their own books to be written. Elle and Dominic's path to romance and love was not easy but worth the journey. No pain no gain, and Dominic was surely a pain. A very good read you will not be dissapointed.

I just started reading this book on yesterday and completed it in the wee hour of the morning. I just couldn't put the dang gone thing down. I truly didn't mean to read it in one sitting. Now, I've always been a fan of Janice Sims and normally, I like to marinate on a book. But the first chapter dragged me in and held me captive throughout the entire story. I loved it!

The male protagonist, a black Italian; and the heroine, a black American with the City of Milan, Italy as the setting was created by the author with precession and vision. Even if you aren't a fan of romance novels, you'll like this one. This will have to be a series, and one I will certainly be following.

Take a bow Ms. Sims. You've really out done yourself. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, a slice of New York cheese cake and a diet coke. You go girl!

5.0 out of 5 stars Temptation's Song by Janice Sims, June 19, 2010

This review is from: Temptation's Song (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Wonderful story and well executed. Three friends who went to Julliard, a performing arts school in New York City are vacationing together in Italy. Elle Jones who is an aspiring opera soloist comes across an open audition in the paper for the production of Temptation. Dominic Corelli wrote and is producing his opera, at the famous venue La Scala.

At first he is just enthralled with Elle's voice, then he sees her and the chemistry ignites. Elle is just as entranced. He is gorgeous and a musical genius. However, the greatest obstacle to their possible relationship is that he would be her boss. What follows is the tensions that develops when you are trying to maintain this kind relationship, while being overwhelmed with lust. The way these issues are handle is what makes the story so good. The interactions are believable there are no cut and dry answers.

The backdrop of Italy is described beautifully and vividly if sparingly. The secondary characters add depth and humor.

It is amazing what the author has accomplished in such a few pages.
