honestly, i couldn't even finish it.
i have read all of her books, and i never would have guessed by reading this what a great author she would turn into.
the writing is all over the place, it has too much plot jumping, and the heroine is completely unlikeable.
save your money.

I've read Robyn Carr's newer books, but this one is a real jewel. The very tender story of a man of God, who sweetly and persistently seeks to win the heart of a broken and wounded widow and mother. A beautiful love story about a woman who is afraid to love again and the man whose faith gives him the strength to not walk away. Lovely.

Usually love Robyn Carr but what a frustrating book. This book lacked an appealing heroine. She was pretty harsh and unlikable. Even the ending was a disappointment. Abrupt and lacking in tenderness. Save your money and buy the Virgin River/ Grace Valley Series. The new books on Thunder Point are also enjoyable.

I love Robyn Carr's books and have read all the Virgin River and Grace Valley titles, and started on Thunder Point. I've decided to change it up with some of the stand-alone titles lately, and have loved those, too. I skipped over this one a few times, just not sure the synopsis appealed to me. I finally took a chance on it. I don't like it. The main character of Beverly is just not one-bit likable to me in any way, and the writing is just ....cheesy. Not at all like Robyn's other books. If you're looking for typical Robyn Carr, leave this one on the shelf.

I've read a lot of books by Robyn Carr. She is one of favorite authors. This book; however, was definitely one of her weaker ones. I felt as those she glossed over most of the story. I really did not care for Bev at all. She was so frustrating I just wanted to shake her. Honestly, I was glad when the story ended.

I should always check the publish dates of her books because her early books don't compare to the current books. She has grown as a writer! I really disliked the female lead in this book--I can't even remember her name! She was not a nice person and I can't say I'd want to hang out with her. The premise of the story was good. Once the handsome preacher gets involved I was hoping for some redemption in the storyline but it didn't happen. I was so disappointed in the story that unlike most Carr books I didn't care if I finished it or not. That's never happened before. Don't waste your time....

I felt like I wasted one of my credits on this book. I guess I'm just used of the Virgin River series or Thunder Point books.

Because I love the 'now' Robyn Carr...I stayed...looking in vane for any sign of her...page after page. Alas...she was no where to be found in this insipid story about an unbelievably selfish woman and an unbelievably spineless man. No matter how much you grow and develop as a writer...some early flops should be given a decent funeral...never to rise again from the dead.
