5.0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING, June 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tempting Fate (Paperback)
This is the first book I have ever read by Meryl Sawyer. I absolutely loved it. I definitely agree with the other readers, the best book ever. I think Logan and Kelly made a great couple. Many times I read books where one of the main characters is always nasty until the very end and that can be quite exasperating, this was a delightful change. My only regret is that the book ended. If there were more than five stars available to rate, I would rate it higher.

Meryl Sawyer dishes up another intricate tale of suspense, mystery and romance with "TEMPTING FATE". Logan Mc Cord and Kelly Taylor are strong, independant, and content to be on their own - until they realize that fate has other plans. Both are running from pasts that are less than perfect, and find; in each other, the promise of happiness. Happy running a small town newspaper, Kelly is tipped off to get the scoop of the decade and interview Logan Mc Cord, the missing child of the town's hope for President . Logan is trying to keep a low profile, while the prominent political family that left him for dead in the desert years before drags him back into the spotlight. An orphaned boy, a political scam, several mysterious murders and a whole lot of romance round out the story. Meryl Sawyer is a great storyteller, and in the tradition of " A KISS IN THE DARK", "THE HIDEAWAY" and "UNFORGETTABLE", she'll keep you hooked until the last page !

The synopsis to this book does not do it justice! It has a very in-depth plot and makes you feel the character's emotions! I simply could NOT put it down- literally! I was so sad to see it end, yet at the same time I couldn't wait for it to end so that I could see what happens! I very strongly recommend this book. I have spent tons of time and money on this website and this is the first time that I have felt compelled to write a review. I hope you buy this book- if you like romantic suspense, you will LOVE Tempting Fate. I'm off to buy all the rest of her books now....

One of the best books I've read so far this year. (I know, it's only the 27th day of January but I've read a lot!) This book had me hooked from page one and I didn't stop until the end. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tempting Fate is great and the title fits perfectly., June 5, 1998
By A Customer

Meryl Sawyer is a great writer, you never get disappointed in any of her books. I've read about 6 of her books and I think every story is unique. The characters - Kelly and Logan are so down to earth. The plot is perfect and their interests very intriguing. I liked the way she describes the lives of the Navajos and the typical lifestyle of the Stanfields. Logan's lifestyle as a Cobra is even interesting but the part about the escape could have been lengthened. Anyway this is one great book. By the way that's what I say everytime I read one of her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Superb!, December 1, 2000

I just finished reading this book and I had to slow down because I did not want it to end. This was a wonderful book. I loved every minute of it. The Stanfield's clan was so twisted. But it made for exciting reading. I fell in love with little Rafi. He was so adorable. The love between Logan and Kelly was so touching. Tears streamed down my eyes several times. Logan really does sound like a man to die for. The things he went through during his childhood just broke my heart. I'd love to read more about Logan, Kelly, Pops, and Rafi. This was my first time reading Meryl Sawyer and now I must read more. This is one romantic suspense that I highly recommend. There is absolutely no way you could be disappointed. Go slow, because you will not want it to end. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars My curiosity was in overdrive...fabulous book..., July 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Tempting Fate (Paperback)
The story keep me guessing until the end. I never knew what anyone was capable of doing from one minute to the next. The chemistry was explosive. When you meet "THE ONE" and have a hard time accepting them it makes for some interesting situations. The family saga was just heartbreaking for both Logan and Kelly. I just wanted to smack Logan's father and Kelly's deceased husband's for being such idiots. But unfortunately without them we wouldn't have had such a wonderful book to read. She should do a follow story up on where Logan, Kelly, Rafi and Pops they are in 10 yrs and let the readers see how Logan has adjusted back to civilian life. If he has??

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy, sizzling romantic suspense, April 6, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Tempting Fate (Paperback)
Over a quarter of a century ago, as a young child, Logan McCord was abducted from his adoptive parents to live amidst a family that showered him with nothing resembling love. His upbringing provided Logan with the perquisite requirements needed to perform undercover antiterrorist work for the government.

Kelly Taylor is a reporter, mourning the death of her spouse, who has left behind a child (from another woman) in Columbia. She has a chance to interview Logan, whose fingerprints prove that he is the missing adopted son of Senator Stanfield and his wife.

Kelly asks Logan to help her adopt the son of her deceased husband. She needs a husband who knows South America and he needs a wife who can help him investigate why someone wants him removed, more permanently, from the Stanfields again. They agree to a marriage of convenience and fly to Columbia where they fall in love as dangerous criminals chase them into the nearby jungle.

Meryl Sawyer is one of the top authors of romantic suspense and her latest novel, TEMPTING FATE, is a fabulous addition to her repertoire. The story line is loaded with action and suspense, and the lead protagonists are a wonderful pair, struggling to overcome external enemies and internal histories. Though the villains are too superficial and cartoonish, Ms. Sawyer provides readers with an intriguing, superb romantic suspense.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved it, November 23, 2010
This review is from: Tempting Fate (Paperback)
This was Romantic Suspense at its best. Great hero, great heroine and a wonderful story rich with details. The chemistry was good too. I would have liked a little more sizzle but its the type of story that grabs you and holds on.
