Book Description

May 2003
If spouses honestly answered the question, "What is it like being married to me?", marriages would be on their way to healing, health, and happiness. It's not a cure-all, but Ed Young believes it is an excellent tool for helping couples enhance their marriage and deepen their intimacy. As he presents The 10 Commandments of Marriage, Pastor Young has two goals. First, to convince readers that they can have a great marriage and second, to challenge them to do whatever it takes to achieve it. Readers will find themselves laughing even as they are equipped to do serious business in their marriages.

5.0 out of 5 stars At Last, some truthful, Biblical principals to make your marriage great!, May 12, 2007
By
Wonderful principals that can be immediately put into practice in your marriage. I was so tired of hearing the same ol thing, "I don't 'deserve' this, I have to look out for myself, he doesn't understand me" If we are thinking of the other person first, it is difficult to be focused on ourselves. A must read for weak and strong marriages alike.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book - even though it's not one I would normally choose!, October 18, 2009
This book is a collection of stories and helps for married couples within the `framework' of the 10 Commandments.

Normally, this would not be a book that I would pick up in a bookstore due to the "cheesy" (in my mind) title but, there are some really great helps in this book for married couples.

Its always nice to read a book that goes back to the Bible for principles, and Ed Young does this throughout.

A quick run down of the topics covered are: Selfishness, Boundaries with Parents, communication, conflicts, debt, sexual tempation, forgiving your mate, keeping passion within your marriage, being able to begin again with your mate - and building a winning team.

While this book may not have been high on my reading list, I think that the heart is in the right place. And to be honest, I did learn a couple new things in the process.

This book would be a great book to read together if you are looking for something easy to enjoy and share with your spouse. With questions at the end of each chapter, it would give you and your mate some great conversation starters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top 10 Things to do to jumpstart your marriage, December 18, 2007
This review is from: The Ten Commandments of Marriage: The Do's and Don'ts for a Lifelong Covenant (Hardcover)
This book is fun enough to keep your interest and yet still brings out great lessons each of us need to address in our marriages. We used this as a group study in our young married adults class at church in the place of regular Sunday School with great results. It prompted great discussion and was even useful for another couple that needed some real help in the marriage. The author also wrote a book about parenting with a similar title that we went through as well. Very helpful, with some great insights to some of the basic problems in marriages today.
