5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect gift for pre-school or kindergarten graduation!, November 14, 2009

The delightful & simple concept of Ten Hats is to count down through the various 'hats' people wear in their professions. Ten Hats is a fun book to read aloud to a group of children. The children enjoy guessing who might be wearing the hats. Ten Hats shows children that they have choices in life. And the best hat of all (in my opinion) is the graduation hat, that celebrates education and a child's choice to be anything they want to be. I think Ten Hats would be the perfect gift for your pre-schooler's and kindergartener's graduation!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the concept and the ending, November 6, 2009
This review is from: Ten Hats: A Counting Book (Paperback)
The perfect book for your little reader! Counting backwards, 'playing dress-up' and dreaming big! The repetition is fun and seeing who wears the next hat is a definitely a big hook. Loved the concept and the ending. A worthwhile book that offers something more than just counting.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Ten Hats: A Counting by Carolyn Mott Ford, Pictures by Jack Gordon., October 17, 2009

This review is from: Ten Hats: A Counting Book (Paperback)
In the world of counting books "Ten Hats" stands out like a giraffe in a herd of zebras. As each hat is removed from a brass rack, kids learn to count the ten hats in ten different professions: constructor worker Nat, a tiger in a yellow, hard hat, drives a mighty bulldozer; police officer Sheila McNapp, in blue cops' hat, hurries a goose family across a cobblestone street; rodeo monkey cowboy Pat, dancing pachyderm ballerina Nina, and gridiron grizzly Elmer Quinn are just five of the ten animals counting down to the last page where the question: "Who wears that shiny, flat hat?" is answered by a happy bunny in cap and gown. "You do," are the final, positive words. "And you can be anything you want to be." If the "Ten Hats" animals could vote, they'd all give this wonderful counting book a unanimous "Two paws up!"
