Book Description

1 and up
While being exposed to a great artist, young readers will also be counting in four different languages before they know it. Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-KABig features double-page spreads depicting children of all colorsAnot just brown and pink, but also light blue and light pea green. Each child is wearing an "oversized" article of clothingAdescribed as gigantic, enormous, big, huge, tremendous, and jumbo. Along with the synonyms, colors and articles of clothing are identified, making this concept book useful on several levels. In Ten, each illustration depicts an oversized white numeral with a corresponding number of Haring's vibrant stylized figures. The word for the number is offered in English, Spanish, French, and German. In both titles, boldly colored drawings outlined in black will engage very young children. Appealing additions to any board-book collection.ALisa Falk, Los Angeles Public Library.

Pop and cute picture book. Each page contains Keith's colorful dancing men from 1 to 10 with English, Spanish, French and German words like "One, Uno, Un, Eins." It's also delight for grownups!

5.0 out of 5 stars A good beginning, March 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Ten (Board book)
I bought this book for my newborn granddaughter. The bold pictures and bright colors make it an excellent choice for immediate introduction to reading. It is a delight to the eye of the adult who is reading and easy for the little one to focus on. As the child grows, she is able to look at the numbers for herself. If you buy BIG, you gotta' have TEN to go with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars 8 Month Old's Favorite Book, September 11, 2009
This review is from: Ten (Board book)
Baby and I have read a lot of the classics (Goodnight Moon, Eric Carle, Helen Oxenbury, Karin Katz, ...) and this is by far baby's favorite book. He grunts and drools extensively whenever we read it (baby speak for "man oh man!"). It also holds his attention for a lot longer than all other books-- even the baby face books. Another plus is that this book is not junk food literature; baby is exposed to the work of a well respected artist and is introduced to the concept of counting (in English, Spanish, French, and German). Can probably be used in Montessori curriculum.
