I think Paul Pearsall is right on target in his evaluations of marriage, intimacy, and divorce. His reasearch has opened windows of information to me. If I had read this during my relationship with my wife of seventeen years, we would still be together now. Contained in the book is a miracle marriage manual which is extremely useful for couples. As it is, it has helped me to understand the things that went wrong.

This is by far the most lucid, well-grounded book on creating a successful marriage/relationship I've ever read. It is useful and practical, not gimmicky or trendy, and goes straight to the heart of what's truly important. The author himself has been happily married for many years (unlike some self-proclaimed relationship gurus). This book also includes the sage advice of couples who've reached their fiftieth wedding anniversaries. Who better to learn how to have a healthy, loving marriage from than those who have done it themselves?!

Good ideas in a wordy format. A bit new agey for me suggesting marriage as the ultimate single point of life rather than pursuing God or self.
