The new album is amazing, the special edition is a waste of money, October 2, 2005
Let me begin my saying that this album is absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan. I have all their stuff and see them every time they come to town. I think this album is the best metal to come out in the past few years. I just want people to save their money. I bought one of the special edition and one of the regular album. Believe had an extra dvd and art. The special edition only has extra art...NOTHING ELSE. Buy the regular album! The special edition is a COMPLETE WASTE...unless you love McFarlane's work. I feel a little cheated by this one. At least it's an outstanding album. Like I said, you'll love the album, but don't pay twice as much for packing and a few drawings! Just buy the regular disc.

Warning speacial edition is only for collectors!, October 26, 2005
Okay, i love special editions, so of obviously, i got this first day. The CD is awesome, and the art is really cool, but its not for people who just listen to the music. No special tracks, no bonus CD, only the CD and extra art.

AT LAST. THE DAY HAS COME. \m/, September 20, 2005
Finally. The glory of full quality audio and super high quality packaging. I had been listening to a low quality audio (crap) downloaded version for the past two weeks, attempting to clean it up and make the most of it with sound editors. To hear Ten Thousand Fists come to life the way it was intended is quite a treat. I actually felt good forking over the twenty something bucks for this gem. Best Disturbed work yet, HANDS down, FISTS raised! \m/ \m/
Let me ramble on about the packaging for a minute. Disturbed developed such unique packaging for the spec. ed. that the dude at Best Buy could not locate the three copies that they had in stock. The reason is because it was stocked in the DVD section. It is similar in size to a DVD (no dvd though, bummer). I have loved the artwork since [...] first unveiled it a few weeks back. The solid feel of the box and the hardcover book inside really do this masterpiece of art (and music) justice. McFarlane and Capullo delivered the goods when asked to re-create Disturbed's vision. From super hi-gloss spot varnish to hot-foil stamping to vellum fly sheets this might be coolest packaging I've seen for a single cd release. Being a graphic artist I feel this deserves worthy praise. Props to Matt Taylor for a kick-ass layout. Best scary guy illustration is on the last page, shown hooded with tattered clothing, more pissed off than ever holding busted chains that were once attached to the steel collar around his neck. Alright enough dorking out about the box it came in.
I haven't experienced this level of joy in opening a CD since the old days when CDs came in the long boxes. The original disc only had the chance to play about four songs on its way home from the store before being ripped, iTuned and iPoded. Can't wait to see the Disturbed jam out the album live this weekend at the Riv in Chicago.
