6 of 7 people found the following review helpful By JFord on July 15, 2010
Format: Paperback
I read this book for a childrens literature class for my Master's class at Montana State University. 10 separate stories telling the tales of very young teenagers going off to war. Several of the stories feature kids performing incredibly heroic deeds. The first three stories in particular are truly amazing. Zullo is a good writer but not "it-makes-the-hair-on-the-back-of-my-neck-stand-up" good. An ideal use of this book would be for a history class as it features stories from the American Revolution, Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.
