The Story of Tushies.
Most other disposable diapers add artificial chemical absorbents such as acrylic acid polymer salts to their all wood pulp padding in order to increase absorbency.  This powder, which is inside the absorbent padding of the diaper, turns into gel when it comes in contact with moisture.  The gel can end up on your baby.  While absorbents are not known to cause harm, why use an artificial when you can use a Gel-Free natural blend cotton absorbent?  New Cloth-Like Cover increases softness for your baby.

I normally use cloth diapers, but for travelling and convenience I wanted to use a gel-free diaper, and these work great. My newborn has so far not had one leaky diaper (even with that typical newborn messiness). I love these diapers and will continue to use them. Make sure to understand -- these are the ONLY diaper that does not use the gel (the others are just chlorine-free). You cannot use these as long as conventional gel diapers, but you shouldn't anyway -- not good for baby to sit in it for long, anyway!

These are wonderful disposables. Sure, the tabs don't work so well if you get them gummy and they leak if you don't change your kid often. Non-superabsorbant materials just don't absorb as much. I give them four stars, however, because they also keep my baby rash-free. When my baby was born, I tried every disposable diaper brand I could find and they all gave her a painful, ever-worsening rash. This is the only dispsable diaper that keeps her fanny in good shape.

Now, we are a staunch cloth diaper family. They're much easier to use than people give them credit for, and MUCH cheaper than using disposables. However, in situations where cloth isn't an option (i.e. going on a long-distance trip for a chunk of time) Tushies are exactly what you need.

Tushies are the best diapers ever! They naturally absorb without any of the crazy chemicals used in other diapers. If you are like most moms and dads, you go out of your way to keep chemicals away from your baby. You use "gentle" detergent and "babyproof" your home, so how could you possibly use a diaper filled with chemical gel? I have only had a few leaks with these diapers, on a very messy diarrhea or a particularly wet night, but very rarely. Overall, I wish I could give these diapers ten stars rather than just five.
