A young woman hit a man with a poker to keep him from raping her. She was convicted of murder and sent to the american colonies to be sold as a slave.When the shore gets close she strips off her dress and jumps overboard to swim for her freedom. she is found by a priest who takes her to a lady.After confessing everything to the lady, she helps her by giving her a fake name and teaching her to be a lady.She wants to marry a wealthy man and never have to worry again but standing between her and her admirers is a handsome [...]son of a lord with no money no land and might possibly be a smuggler. She falls in love with him and he with her but he will not marry her he has nothing to offer her except to live with him as his mistress, this is not acceptable to her.There is so many twists and turns to this story. It will hold your interest I enjoyed reading it.
