Review
... a finely told tale... above all, Tenderfoot is a story about love: love of the land, love of each other and love that forgives and moves on, reaching past the comforts of familiarity into the tempest of the unknown where love and life truly bloom. A page turner and a delight. --Jane Kirkpatrick, Award-winning author of A Flickering Light
A woman seeking to come to terms with her past and start anew, a man torn between his need for love and his responsibilities, a mountain poised to erupt. Mary Trimble kept me on the edge of my seat with this compelling story set during the spring of 1980 as Mount St. Helens trembled and shook. Tenderfoot is one explosive read! --Suzanne Lyon, Author of A Heart for Any Fate
About the Author
Mary E. Trimble, award-winning novelist, lives with her husband on Camano Island, Washington. Four children and six grandchildren, most of whom live in the Northwest, play an important role in Mary s life.
Trimble s earlier coming-of-age novels, Rosemount and McClellan s Bluff have been met with enthusiastic acclaim. McClellan s Bluff was the EPIC 2004 Winner for Young Adult Fiction. Her latest novel, Tenderfoot, is a romantic suspense novel set around the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption.
A prolific writer and author of 400-plus magazine and newspaper articles, Trimble draws on personal experiences including purser and ship's diver aboard the tall ship, M.S. Explorer; two years with the Peace Corps in West Africa; a 13,000-mile South Pacific sailing trip aboard their 40-foot Bristol, Impunity; and extensive overland RV trips. Trimble is active with the American Red Cross and responds to national and local disasters.
The author finds researching to be one of the greatest pleasures of writing. Preparing for Tenderfoot, she interviewed many people who were on or near Mount St. Helens when it erupted. In addition to horse-back riding for pleasure, she has also worked round-up in Eastern Washington.
