5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music
The first time I heard James Last music played was on PBS television and I just loved it. This CD is just beautiful. His style of music playing just gets you and keeps you in a very happy frame of mind. He plays romantic music and toe tapping music. I highly recommend this CD = it it GREAT.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth a listen.
First there was Mantovani with his strings, then Bert Kaempfert added guitars and trumpet to strings, and next came James Last who used full orchestration and voices. The selections on this particular album are very good with 'Elizabethan Serenade'and one of my favourites 'Whiter Shade of Pale' being the standouts. A different version of 'What Now My Love'. The sound...

The sound quality on this Spectrum label leaves a lot to be desired but other than that, it's not bad.

Ashamed to say I had never heard of James Last, his orchestra and chorus, until I saw a squib on German TV and learned that he is among the top-selling recording artists in the world today. Apparently his "danceable" versions of familiar melodies is all the rage in Europe and beyond with 170+ albums to his credit. Amazon offers several and I just picked one at random since I liked some of the selections. Well, folks, this is stellar stuff. Easy listening at its finest. My guess is: pick any one and you will be pleased. The price is pleasing too.
