Tending the Soul
90 Days of Spiritual Nourishment
By Anita Lustrea(Eds.), Melinda Schmidt(Eds.) & Lori Neff(Eds.)

I like devotional books. Not as a main course for my Bible study, but "snacks" throughout the day. Many well known authors and artists contributed. I enjoyed reading the insights that these busy creative women gleaned from the time with the Lord. I liked the illustrations of their personal experiences as it gave me a peek into their lives and challenges.
Each devotional is two pages long. The author gives a scripture verse, a short devotional, a personal prayer, and ends with reflection questions to help you think about apply this scripture to your life. I like to read the entire chapter the verse from the reference to extend my devotional.
Although the devotionals are short, with all these parts combined, each one will encourage you and cause you to look within yourself. At the end of each one there is a suggestion to, Journal, sketch, compose a poem, write a letter to God, meditate on a hymn or worship song that comes to mind.
The book is just the right size to tuck in your purse and take with you to read when find yourself with a spare moment such as your lunch break at work, waiting for the kids at school or in a doctor's office.
I also think this would be an excellent devotional for older teen girls.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

This is a daily devotional written by a long list of women from many walks of life and ministries. The short but sweet pages are just what I need for a quick note of encouragement to start my day. Each one includes a Scripture passage, teaching, prayer, and reflection. I enjoy the variety of believers’ hearts shared within these pages and have been blessed by their simple nuggets of faith. These readings are written in such a way that they can be used to give voice to my own prayers when I struggle to find the words. Several times God seemed to speak directly to my heart as I opened the book and began reading where I had left off the day before.

This collection of 2 page devotions is just enough to help you transform your mind into finding the blessings we’re showered with each day.

Each devotion contains a Bible verse (most are NIV), a relevant snippet from the authors’ personal experiences, a short prayer, and a suggestion(s) on how to reflect on the particular devotion.

I enjoyed this devotional—especially how easy it is to fit in a two-page read each morning that will set your mind in the right place. It’s refreshing, inspiring, and enjoyable to read.

This would make a great gift to a friend, or as a keepsake.

I continue to go back and re-read this one. Love these short devotions, and the way they discuss topics that other devotionals do not.
