Short tip prevents charging with some chargers,
By yyysguy (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 8 pcs of Tenergy C Size 5000mAh High Capacity High Rate NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (Electronics)
The button on the positive end of the battery is about 1 mm shorter than a standard alkaline C battery. This shorter post prevents contact with the electrodes in my battery charger (Rayovac Model PS3, 4-cell).
UPDATE: 13 JAN 2011. I purchased a La Crosse BC-9009 for AA and AAA batteries (4 cell), and a MAHA MH-C808M for C and D batteries (8 cell). The MAHA will also do AA and AAA, so buy it if you only want one charger. However, the La Crosse is much smaller making it easier to take on travels. Both will recondition weak rechargeables, which extends cycles for 20 or more additional charges. Both chargers accomodate Tenergy battery posts with no need to use foil to make contact with the post. I was concerned about user comments on the MAHA about potential fires, so I only use it during the daytime when I am around. By contrast, I will leave the La Crosse on overnight, if required. The La Crosse unit allows rapid charging if in a hurry, but it is best to use the lowest charging rate (200 mA) to extend battery cycle life. These chargers in combination with batteries supplied by La Crosse, or Sanyo Eneloop batteries purchased separately produce a use life almost as good as alkaline batteries. Overall costs are much lower than alkaline batteries. Sanyo states that Eneloop batteries maintain around 85% of their charge when stored at room temperature for a year. I think other rechargeables are not even close. You can add metal foil to make good contact for Tenergy batteries in the RayoVac charger. However, I recommend La Crosse or MAHA over any unit sold in local stores. La Crosse or MAHA will charge more effectively and batteries will last longer.

Great batteries,

This is my second order of Tenergy batteries. They have worked great so far and the price is much better than some other high capacity batteries I've seen offered.
I use a Powerex charge that can can charge up to 8 cells at a time. So far I have no complaints. Batteries work great.

A good deal, spend a little extra up front and save over time. These are working great around the house, saving me a lot of money.

Mega power from a C sized battery.,

I've purchased a few different sizes of Tenergy batteries and have yet to be disappointed. These C sized cells seem inexhaustable. My wireless outdoor speaker runs on eight of them for over 36 hours of play time. A set of dura-cells only lasted about a third of that time. Will quickly pay for themselves.

Long Lasting Batteries,

This review is from: 8 pcs of Tenergy C Size 5000mAh High Capacity High Rate NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (Electronics)
I was skeptical, but these batteries have performed as advertised. We use them in a wireless speaker that we move from room to room, and use on our deck in the summer. I've not actually measured the hours of usage, but we use the speaker a lot, and only charge the batteries very infrequently.

Excellent value,
This review is from: 8 pcs of Tenergy C Size 5000mAh High Capacity High Rate NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (Electronics)
I've purchased many Tenergy batteries, C, D, and 9V. They are all excellent and are just as good as more expensive brands. The C's last a LONG time in toys that have motors and things, that put a good load on them. I would also recommend a top of the line charger, as cheaper chargers will probably decrease the life of batteries. Personally I have an Ansmann 8 and it works great with these batteries.

These NIMH batteries arrived with a good charge on them. They have been employed for over a month now in my AR Remote speaker system. They work fine and I have not had any problems. The batteries are clearly marked as rechargeable batteries and of the type NIMH. It is not a good idea to mix battery types, even rechargeable battery types so clear makrings are important.

I've had and used these batteries for months now. I have no complaints. They keep my music going. When they start to die the sound flickers..letting you know they need to be charged.

I have a powered speaker that I use with my Sony 52 inch TV. The speaker uses 8 c size batteries. I bought the Tenergy batteries because the manufacture said to
use the 5000 mAh high capacity NiMH rechargeable battery. This battery does what it should. It holds a charge for 5 to 6 hours of play time. You can then recharge it and go again. I use the speaker outside and watch sporting events through the deck door. I am 40 to 50 feet away from the TV and it does just fine. These seem to be good quality batteries and they fix the speaker just fine. This is a high draw speaker that takes a lot of power.

BEING A PERSON THAT LOVES OUR EARTH, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A LONG TIME FOR ALL RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. I WAS VERY HAPPY TO FIND THIS BRAND THAT MAKES NOT JUST AA & AAA, BUT C, D, & 9v. I HAVE A HOUSE FULL OF FLAMELESS CANDLES, & THEY REQUIRE ALL DIFFERENT SIZE BATTERIES. I WAS HAPPY TO FIND THESE, BUT AM ELATED WITH THEM. THEY ARE VERY REASONABLLY PRICED, BUT THEIR CHARGE LASTS A LONG TIME. WILL BUY AGAIN!!
