I ordered two of these, like first review first week the fan went out in one of them. Took several weeks, phone calls and emails to get an RMA to exchange it. Once they had the item it took several weeks and phone calls and emails for them to ship me replacement. Then they didn't send any of the leads with the replacement. So a few calls later they finally send me the leads. Then they don't send me the Traxxas one which was what I needed and came with it originally. Then when I went to charge Lipo's with the chargers one of them wouldn't accept or give me option for Lipo. So that has now taken me well over a month, tons of calls, tons of emails to get this one replaced. Took them 3 weeks to ship me the replacement one once they received the bad one. Now while that one is in process of exchange the other one still at home has the fan go out on it. Now it has been over two weeks so far trying to get an RMA just so I can exchange the POS. I finally talk to someone via email 1 1/2 weeks ago to check on status of both RMA's and still haven't heard squat from them. This is beyond ridiculous excuse of customer service.

Tenergy TB6 Balancing Charger for NiMH/NiCD/Li-PO/Li-Fe/SLA:

1) From the first day I used this charger the cooling fan started seizing up.

2) The user manual is very poorly written and is not much use at all.

3) Often the charger stops charging AA or AAA NIMH batteries prematurely, way before the capacity of the battery, especially when charging between 1C and 2C for AA or > 0.5C for AAA. This happens with different batteries and different makes, including GP, Uniross and Sanyo Eneloops. My other chargers does not have this problem with those same batteries. I have tried setting the delta peak V at all different values without any improvement

I am an avid airsoft player and have been using LiPo batteries for a short time. I would say that this charger is not the easiest to learn to operate the charging levels, but my experience is low. I do like the fact that it discharges to prolong the life of my batteries. This charger is not for just anyone looking for a charger, but if you want to save your batteries over time this is the one to get.

Whatever tenergy is using for their fans is just plain lousy. Shortly after I purchased the charger the fan started going out. Unfortunately (or based on other reviews fortunately) I did not warranty the charger. Mine unlike others came with a manual so I posted that in the images.

I had to resist the temptation to brand swap since I was out the money and return was not an option. If someone knows of a better modular charger balancer let me know.

So instead of replacing the charger I decided to replace the fan. Turns out that the fan they used is extra thin. Probably part of the reason why it breaks. My local parts store did not have the fan, but they had a thicker one like it. So after much experimenting I mounted the fan on the outside of the charger. We'll see if the charger breaks down in any other way as I use it.

I have owned this charger for 3-1/2 years now & it finally had a problem two days ago. It has worked FLAWLESSLY using the enclosed power adapter, but would not work off of a HOBBY BATTERY (12V 6A or 7A). Fast charge was pretty good. I recently went to 5S 5000mah lipos for a specific airplane and two days ago I plugged in the balance connector to a port on my charging adapter and got a spark. Now it errors when I try to use the STORAGE function. It still charged a 3S lipo pack fine. Even so, I'm now looking for a higher wattage charger for my 5S packs.

I would still recommend it for the average user.

I have been using this unit for over a year on all battery types and it works awesome! I even charge an old 12 volt 9 amp hour SLA UPS battery and it keeps it in proper charge for use when I go out in the field. The Fan is variable speed and runs as needed, it does not run instantaneously right off the start until the unit warms up. Best charger I ever owned and I have 5 different brands, this unit can replace them all! I would buy again and highly recommend this unit. I like all the features showing battery status while charging and the manual is very informative explaining the voltage requirements of all battery types and how they should be properly charged. Very easy no fuss charging solution with many features that can be changed to your own charge cycle or use the default settings. You can store your charge cycles in memory for later recall. Best charger for the money at much higher price.
