I needed 9v batteries for my tens unit. The disposable batteries lasted about 6 hours and cost about $2 each. I bought these hoping they would last longer. They last roughly 18 hours in my unit with 1 lead, and about 14 with two. They charge quickly, and hold it longer. Will recommend this brand to everyone I know!

This charger is actually constant-current, in the literal sense - it always charges at ~200mA. That said, it charges by "pulsing" - turning full bulk charge on/off depending on battery charge level. When empty, the charge pulses are nearly continuous, when full - just once every 8 seconds.

This approach seems well-suited for NiMh batteries as it allows them to cool down between pulses, preventing venting/overheating, and also makes for a compromise between a trickle overcharge and self-discharge after charging is complete. I've had cheap 20mA trickle chargers "pop" 9V NiMh batteries (cells physically swelled and popped the casing), and I don't think that will happen here. That said, it does tell you to remove batteries after they are full, but so does every other charger.

It makes a bit of a hissing noise (in between pulses) but it's not too bad unless you plan to keep it right next to you.

Also, the current price here is cheaper than ebay (wish I looked before I bought)

Everyone has some sort of device around the house that uses 9v batteries. Smoke alarms, automatic irrigation systems, some toys. And when they go dead then you have to remember to buy one at the store and how happy are you about the prices set by the insidious battery cartel?

This is a good and simple charger. The batteries are that new already charged technology made famous by the Enloop brand as endorsed by the foremost expert Engineer Lee. I believe everything he says.

Now I no longer fear the 9v demons, more than ready for them and will never to have to walk up to one of those battery displays in a store again, ever.

The charger plugs into an outlet so no transformers and wires and stuff. Even the plug folds up into the unit so it is nice and tidy to use and store. It seems like good quality stuff. A red light when you put in the batteries (either one or two at a time work and charge independently, so that is a nice touch. A green light when done. And since these batteries hold their charge for months, you don't have to leave it plugged in all the time.

Looking through Amazon, this seemed like the best choice and I am happy that I got it.

I bought these batteries and charger for our High School Drama Department to be used with wireless mics. We go through a ton of batteries during our productions. I am very please with these batteries and chargers so far. Trying to go as green as possible.

Without hesitation I rated this product at five stars hands-down! I read a number of reviews on this product and several of which claim that the charger would only charge the batteries to 8.7 V. In fact, I think these people were getting that information from the manual that came with the charger.

The manual does say that the charger handles 7.6 and 8.7 V NiMH batteries and exactly what that means I can only guess. My assumption is that 9 V batteries with less than 200 mah may be batteries that charge up to 7.6 V/8.7 V but I'm not sure and as I said it's just an assumption/guess.

However, I have high-quality digital 24 range multimeter and the first thing I did after I charged up the first pair of four batteries that came with the unit, was check the voltage. Both of the batteries charged to a full 9.6 V. Upon checking the milliamp hours, I got a reading of 235 mah.

I bought this charger and batteries specifically for use in the transmitter of my wireless microphone unit. I use the unit with Dragon Naturally Speaking 12.5 pretty much every day, all day long. The transmitter will go through a 9 V battery in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours and this charger is saving me an immense amount of money.

I found the batteries take about 1 1/2 hours to charge up if I draw the power down to 7.5 V. That's pretty quick when you consider you have four batteries which gives it plenty of time to recharge one or two while you're using the other two.

The charger and batteries seem to be of high quality and construction. I was hesitant to buy a brand of battery that I never heard of before but theTenergy brand came up as a very highly thought of brand among many people who use these rechargeable 9 V batteries.

I do a lot of metal detecting,so this was a no brainer! Instead of buying batteries, and then disposing of them, just recharge them.Good for our enviroment, and dollar wise also. This system is great and you can not over-charge.

I use these batteries in a wireless receiver as part of a wireless musical instrument system. I've been using the system for years with disposable batteries and decided to try rechargeables to save money. When I used disposables, the battery would last for several jobs (generally about 4 hours long). Using these batteries, I have to replace the battery about half way through one job.

It's still better than paying the price for disposable batteries. It's not that difficult to change a battery in the receiver. It's just obvious to me that these batteries do not have nearly as long a life as disposables.

Just for the record, the transmitter uses a single AAA battery. I use Eneloop AAA batteries, and they last longer than Energizer or Duracell disposable batteries. Based on that experience, I have to assume that the Tenergy 9 volt batteries do not have the capacity that they advertise.
