From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1. A boy's imagination runs "wild" as he sits on a curb eating his way through a box of animal crackers. The bold watercolor and gouache artwork extends the simple story line as the crackers spring to life. The child thinks about family and friends he would like to share them with and, in each case, fantasizes about how the people would interact with an elephant, hippo, anaconda, or rhinoceros. He decides to keep an adorable kitten for himself. The creatures assume comical poses as they adapt to their new habitats. This fine quality Spanish translation reads aloud well and makes an entertaining storyhour selection.?Marisa Parish, NYPL
