5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Job from Jasmine Records
Jasmine records does the world and Ernie a favor. Instead of releasing another album that contains his hits, they have included in this album, many songs new to CD. For example the delightful "Donkey Serenade" which was on the flipside of one of Ford's hits. Also included are "What this country needs is a good old fashioned talk with the Lord" and...

1.0 out of 5 stars How can this be a greatest hits collection...
How can this be a "greatest hits" collection when it does not include "Sixteen Tons"?
It may be a good cd, I haven't heard it. But in looking for a greatest hits collection of Ernie Ford, I would expect for any "greatest hits" collection to have the one song he is MOST KNOWN FOR on it.

This review is from: "Tennessee Ernie Ford - His Original and Greatest Hits, Vol. 1: The Shot-Gun Boogie" [ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED] (Audio CD)
Jasmine records does the world and Ernie a favor. Instead of releasing another album that contains his hits, they have included in this album, many songs new to CD. For example the delightful "Donkey Serenade" which was on the flipside of one of Ford's hits. Also included are "What this country needs is a good old fashioned talk with the Lord" and "the Lord's Lariat". Both were duets with the Dining Sisters. As a bonus they have included two extended versions of two of Ernie hits that were meant to be played on the radio. It's a shame that more of his work has not been released. Visit Ernieford.com to help in this task and thank you Jasmine records for the great work you have done.
