You couldn't ask for more beautiful pictures...I keep it in my office at work (I'm living in L.A. now-but originally from TN.)
Makes me think of home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, October 18, 2009
This review is from: Tennessee (Hardcover)
The photographs in the book are wonderful, as are the stories of culture and history. If you long for a road trip to Tennessee but don't currently have the time, then this lovely book is the next best thing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive, disorganized, misses a lot., December 2, 2011

This review is from: Tennessee (Hardcover)
If waterfalls and streams are your thing, then this is the book for you. There are almost 40 pictures of these, yet nearly every important Tennessee landmark is missing. Just to name a few - where is the Hernando de Soto Bridge, the Memphis Pyramid, Jack Daniels Distillery, TVA dams, the State Capitol, the Tennessee Aquarium, etc.? And there are lots of photos of unremarkable flowers like cosmos, petunias, rhododendrons (five!), and phlox that could have been found in any state in the U.S. but not one picture of the Tennessee state flowers - iris or passion flower. There is also no apparent organization as the pictures jump randomly from the west side of the state to the east and back again. And if you are looking for anything in particular, good luck finding it as there is no index or table of contents. There are a few nice pictures here, but if you are looking for a book that really shows the character of Tennessee, this isn't it.
