From School Library Journal
Grade 3-5-Lovely color photographs mark these compact titles. Double-page spreads feature a photograph or colored illustration on the right, with large-print text on the left. Each book discusses a particular breed and its distinguishing features, such as gait, coloring, body style, etc. The authors talk about how the type of horse came into being and its primary use. Each book features illustrious members of the group such as racers; sires; television, book, and movie stars; or rodeo performers. Sometimes a specific breeder or trainer is also discussed. All of the titles include a diagram of a horse with the parts identified and a scale by which the animals are measured. Horse-crazy kids will enjoy these offerings.
