The songs have been available on CD before but the use of the original cover of the 1952 10" LP makes this a worthy addition to your Patti Page collection. If this is the first release by Patti Page you plan on buying you will get many of her million selling singles as well as a selection of standards well sung by Patti.

I have all of Patti's recordings but had to have this because the CD case is actually a miniature LP styled hardboard cover, the cover painting is a beauty and the packaging includes an inner soft sleeve to protect the CD. This is one of two CD releases from Japan which have 24 bit remastering and are cased in miniatures of the original LP sleeves. The 2nd release in this style is IN THE LAND OF HI FI!

This CD contains, as I said in the title, a mixed bag of some of Patti Page's hit singles and airchecks form about the same time. Most of the hit singles are available on other CDs; there is at least one CD that covers some of the airchecks (and I reviewed that one, "The Uncollected Patti Page with Lou Stein's Music, 1949" more than 4 years ago), so that this is really not an essential CD to get unless you are enough of a Patti Page fan to get the few tracks you can't get anywhere else. (But I suppose I _am_ enough of a Patti Page fan!)

So the album gets 4 stars because I _do_ like it, though I can't really say it's a "must-get" because so much of it overlaps other albums.
