5.0 out of 5 stars Rolando and His Voice are Back!
Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for! Rolando Villazon has given us a good scare over the past two years...his voice was great, then it wasn't, then it was okay, then there was vocal surgery, and now finally, rest assured Rolando Villazon has regained his voice and without any sign of serious deterioration. Yes many of the tracks from this album have been...

1.0 out of 5 stars sad so very sad
When I heard RV first cd I said I give that voice 5 year max before it explodes. That was 5 years ago give or take a few months and here we are. This is what happens when a singer tries impersonate another singer and does not sing with the voice he has but tries to sing with a voice he does not have. His breathing is wrong and his erratic technique has lead to this....sad...

5.0 out of 5 stars Rolando and His Voice are Back!, February 25, 2010

Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for! Rolando Villazon has given us a good scare over the past two years...his voice was great, then it wasn't, then it was okay, then there was vocal surgery, and now finally, rest assured Rolando Villazon has regained his voice and without any sign of serious deterioration. Yes many of the tracks from this album have been taken from his previous DG discography, Cielo e Mar, Handel Arias, and the Duets album, La Boheme, and La Traviata with Anna Netrebko, but half of the tracks on this album are new recordings...O Sole Mio, L'Alba Separa dalla Luce Lombra, Maria, The Impossible Dream, The Music of the Night, Una Furtiva Lagrima, and La Donna e Mobile, for example, are new recordings. What's more, you can compare the new Una Furtiva Lagrima and La Donna e Mobile tracks with those from Rolando's Virgin discography to hear any difference in the voice. The purpose of this new "Tenor" album, I suppose was to reintroduce Rolando to the public and gain some album sales with repertoire popularized by the "Three Tenors" and Rolando's appearance as a mentor and judge on the British television program "Popstar to Operastar." I am so happy Rolando is back...the opera world needs an artist as charismatic and passionate as Rolando is, on stage today. He can still be the world's next best tenor, he just needs to mind over-using his glorious instrument which I pray will give us many more beautiful recordings and performances in the future. I am still anxious to hear Rolando at the Met...went to see him in Rigoletto, Romeo et Juliette, Lucia di Lammermoor, and L'Elisir d'Amore and he had to cancel for one reason or another for all of them on the dates that I had tickets for! Stay well Rolando, we need you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rolando Villazon a dream of Tenor/Bariton. You can't get more romantic than that!, March 8, 2010

This is more like movie than Opera singing. Rolando drives me crazy with his lyrical interpretations. He feels the music. He is the music. He drifts, he vocalizes, he is who he is and shares with all his listeners a magical trip within his self awareness of the beauty of his coloratura. His generosity knows no bounds. He holds nothing back. Just feel his soul and you will have achieved a new awareness of the realm of music.

4.0 out of 5 stars rolando starts his impact in oz, April 18, 2011

Tennor, the new cd from Orlando Villazon being hard to purchase in Australia, but easy to obtain by using Amazon, has started the awareness of this artist to Oz listeners. The album is a new challenge for Orlando, for the inclusion of popular tracks,i.e.West Side Story, Phantom , Man of La Mancha, as well as recognizable opera performances. A must have album for all classical fans.
