This is a pretty straightforward lamp; it does what is is supposed to do. The 40 watt bulb it comes with is REALLY bright! I put a 25 watt bulb in mine, and it's still really bright. I looked at a number of similar lamps at a couple of stores, but didn't like them as much and they were more in the $30 range. At less than ten bucks, this lamp is a super deal!

I have two of these lamps on my computer desk. I love the toggle switch on the base of this lamp. I've had others that are switched on and off by turning the dome at the top of the lamp. That type of switch breaks very easily. (I've had them break as soon as one day after having received them.) I've had no trouble at all with the toggle switch. Plus it's so easy to simply reach over and flip the switch on the base.

I didn't realize when I ordered these lamps that they're on the small side - both the size of the lamp and the bulb. I prefer a fairly bright light at my desk, but I consider the light on this lamp to be adequate.

All in all, a good buy for a very nice little lamp.

Handy little desklamp. Uses vanity sized light bulb. Rated at 40w. Gets the job done.
