Another creative and rockin' album by the former Replacements drummer. Gives yet further proof, that although he was not the dominant voice in the Replacements, when it comes to the former Mats, he has turned out the better albums.

This was the fourth and last album by Chris Mars. Chris is so now into his successful art career that it is doubtful that he will do anymore music, which is a shame. Certainly a Replacments tour would be cool, but I love his solo stuff just as much as the Mats. This CD is a little different from his first three and starts off with probably Chris's most comedic song, "White Patty Rap," which mocks the suburban white-boy rap movement. When I first played this album, I replayed "White Patty..." six times before allowing the next song to play. I still play it over and over. Not to say the other songs are not strong, they are. You do have some common themes at work, in particular Chris's infatuation with his brother's mental condition. Moreover, when you open up the CD jacket there is a great Mars' drawing. A very good album, maybe not as good as "Horseshoes...," but very good.
