From Library Journal
The author, a wine maker from Sonoma, CA, and author of the Jake Lorenzo wine columns, has written a first-rate guide to tequila, lighthearted but filled with useful information for the tequila lover. In the first part, which considers the history and manufacture of tequila, the author presents some of the misconceptions about this increasingly popular drink. In the second part, on tastings, Cutler presents a tasting chart that is in some ways similar to a wine-tasting chart and then gives details on many different brands of tequila. The last part is on travel to the tequila country around Guadalajara, with information on hotels and restaurants. Cutler explains how to contact the distilleries to arrange for tastingsAnot yet as simple as in the Napa Valley wine country. The section on basic Spanish phrases has many errors, but not serious ones. Recommended.AGeorge M. Jenks, Bucknell Univ., Lewisburg, PA

The Tequila Lover's Guide to Mexico is the best book around on that marvelous Mexican spirit, tequila. And that's saying a lot, because I wrote one myself. It's informative, witty and-most important-fun to read. Don't open another bottle of tequila until you read this book. --

Darryl Beeson, CBS Radio, Dallas"Lance Cutler has done the heavy lifting for those of us lacking the time, the money, the willpower, or the cast-iron liver to acquire a comprehensive understanding of tequila. To borrow a phrase or two from his inventive lexicon,
The Tequila Lover's Guide to Mexico deserves a definite "Wow!" for its pungent prose, and a "Muy macho" for the author's estimable nose. Ole!" --
Paul Gregutt, Seattle Weekly"Reading Lance's book is like visiting Mexico with a close friend, and his tasting notes are clearly the best thing to sniffing and swallowing." --
