Book Description

Terminator 3 November 29, 2005
A HUNT FOR THE TRUTH
A HUNT FOR SURVIVAL

Skynet, the most advanced artificial intelligence ever developed, has long since outstripped its human creators in deviousness, duplicity, and sheer ruthlessness.
In 2029, as the human Resistance inexorably pushes toward a victory over the machines, Skynet has a card to play that the Resistance can’t counter. It can use one of the Resistance to betray all humanity.

Skynet kidnaps Resistance agent Paul Keeley, drugs him into a hazy, receptive state, and subjects him to an uncannily realistic VR simulation in which a beautiful woman is trying to rescue him from the living hell of the future.

Unfortunately, that woman is a seductive, deadly Terminatrix. If Paul believes what his virtual “savior” tells him, he may inadvertently reveal vital Resistance secrets that could cause mankind’s destruction. The Resistance must find the key to unlock Paul’s memory and hunt down the answers that will defeat the Terminatrix, the T-X, Skynet’s most powerful weapon of all. . . .

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Adolescents of all ages will have fun with Allston's rock-em sock-em riff on the characters and settings of last summer's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. . . Arnold's adventure fans, rejoice. This is the stuff that role-playing dreams are made of."
--Publishers Weekly on Terminator 3: Terminator Dreams

"There's a nice satirical sense and a vicious streak a mile wide that makes this a good read."
--Locus on Allston's original science fiction novel, Galatea in 2-D

A HUNT FOR THE TRUTH
A HUNT FOR SURVIVAL

Skynet, the most advanced artificial intelligence ever developed, has long since outstripped its human creators for deviousness, duplicity, and sheer ruthlessness.

In 2029, as the human Resistance inexorably pushes toward a victory over the machines, Skynet has a card to play that the Resistance can't counter. It can use one of the Resistance to betray all humanity.

When it snatches Paul Keeley, it uses his own instincts against him in a virtual reality simulation, in the form of a beautiful woman who wants to rescue him from the living hell of the future.

Unfortunately, that woman is a seductive, deadly Terminatrix. In Paul's virtual salvation lay the seeds of mankind's destruction, unless the Resistance can find key to unlock Paul's memory and hunt down the answers that will defeat the Terminatrix, the T-X, Skynet's most powerful weapon of all. . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding continuation of Terminator story., December 27, 2005
This review is from: Terminator 3: Terminator Hunt (Mass Market Paperback)
Honestly I didn't know what to expect when I picked up this book the other day. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well written, easy visualized story. The characters were fleshed out pretty well, and the plot line has some pretty intense moments. I hadn't read the book that preceded this one, but I am definitely going to pick it up. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wanted more after the T3 movie credits rolled.

4.0 out of 5 stars Allston Works His Magic Again, February 19, 2006
This review is from: Terminator 3: Terminator Hunt (Mass Market Paperback)
As a follow-up to his book, Terminator Dreams, Aaron Alston once again works his magic to resurrect the Terminator story from the disaster that was T3. Allston's clear strong point that makes him the "best" Terminator writer (yes, even better than Stirling) is his apparent depth of knowledge of technology and how computer systems and high-end technology works. In "Hunt," he describes Skynet's and the T-X's technology in vivid detail that really captures the reader and makes you believe that the science-fiction is "real science." His characters which are carried over from Terminator Dreams are very real and he is able to build attachments. "Glitch," the captured and re-programmed T-850 becomes a very "human" character that the reader really attaches to. This is a great stand alone story more properly viewed as an "episode" rather than a link to the overall Terminator storyline. Well worth the time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Buy, January 11, 2009
This review is from: Terminator 3: Terminator Hunt (Mass Market Paperback)
Any Sci-Fi readers must read this series. AWESOME. There is also a television series that is completely different. This is the most serious effort on one persons part to bring this idea to a whole new level. Wow, did they ever. Not what you expect.
