This Comb Is The Answer!!!,

This review is from: Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb, Professional Stainless Steel Louse and Nit Comb for Head Lice Treatment, Removes Nits (Health and Beauty)
This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review for anything and I buy lots of items from Amazon. My daughter came home from a summer visit at her father's infested with lice. I thought it would be simple to get rid of. No clothes were allowed inside until washed. I treated her head with lice treatment. I spent two days picking out bugs and nits. One day at hotel and one at home. I colored her hair. All this before she was allowed into her bedroom. I know I spent over 12 hours straight combing through her hair and hand picking out bugs and nits. I have never seen anything like her infestation before. After having live bugs still running away from me after the lice treatment, I read all I could on the internet for other treatments. Mayo. Listerine. Olive Oil. Tree Tea Oil. Peppermint Shampoo. Tree Tea shampoo. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to get rid of these things. They all seemed to work to a certain degree, but not totally. I still combed nits out daily. You have to understand, when she first came home, she had 2 or 3 nits on what seemed like EVERY hair on her head. After 2 months my daughter's hair was prettier then it had ever been...although shorter to be sure! But I still found nits and bugs on occasion. I was at wit's end and shared many tears of frustration with my daughter. Who at no fault of her own felt so bad that she had these nasty creatures in her hair. Never have I been so frustrated or angry. I hated those little bugs!!!! Then I gave up and said ok, I'll try the stupid comb. What's 20 more bucks gonna hurt? The first night I combed though her hair and couldn't believe the stuff it pulled out. I had just dyed her hair (yet again) to try to kill off the little buggers, and I know I combed out over a dozen of them. Not to mention the nits. And other gunk, that I knew must be dead bugs and waste from these things. And to look at her hair, it appeared so clean!!! at the same time of being totally disgusted with what I was combing out, I was excited too! Was it going to work? day two, I combed again and got maybe 6 to 12 more bugs. Day 3...I'm down to only being able to find 4 bugs. Day 4 I had no bugs. Day 5 still nothing! She truly is lice free. I can't express enough how wonderful this comb is. I comb once a week now just so we never EVER have to go though this again. I truly don't understand why I had to go online to find this comb. No where in my town was it offered. Only the WORTHLESS over the counter USELESS chemicals that didn't WORK!!!! If you really want to get rid of lice in schools, this should be available everywhere. I hope just one person reads this, tries the comb and passes on what they learned. It really does make a difference and can save hundreds of dollars. Not to mention relieving the stress and frustration of parents everywhere...

After getting over the shock of our kids coming home from school with lice, the best solution we found is definitely the Terminator Lice Comb used in conjunction with Cetaphil Skin Cleanser.
At first, we tried the RID shampoo from the pharmacy which included a fine comb and gel. This did not work since nits hatch a day later and you cannot use the shampoo over and over. The shampoo has a pesticide in it that can be very dangerous for children. After researching information on the Internet, the process we used that got rid of the lice within four days was the following: 1) wash hair and put conditioner in and leave it in, 2) comb hair with regular comb to get knots out, 3) section off hair and use Terminator Comb on each section (note: make sure you rinse Terminator Comb off after each stroke as to not spread lice, nymphs or nits), 4) completely rinse out hair conditioner and blow dry hair. STEP 5) before bedtime, saturate hair with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser all the way to the scalp. Put shower cap on child for the entire night. This step is important since the Cetaphil seems to keep lice and nymphs from crawling around and probably blocks the nits from hatching. However, this is not confirmed but makes sense if you read how nits hatch. Rinse the Cetaphil out in the morning and repeat combing hair with the Terminator Comb. We did the above five steps for four days and noticed the number of nits declining considerably each day. By day four, we only saw a couple nits in the sink after rinsing the comb. NOTE: since nits hatch within 7-10 days, you will need to repeat the above process on day 7 just to double check. We checked on day 7 and found nothing. Since we're being super cautious, we checked day 10 as well and found nothing.

Best Lice and Nit Comb on the Market,

I have tried all three of the so called best lice and nit removal combs on the market and the Nit Free Terminator Comb is by far the most effective. They all get out lice but this comb really gets the nits (lice eggs) out much more efficiently. The Rid comb and the LiceMeister were not as effective at all.
We bought one for each child (the combs come in differnt colors) and they last forever.

My family already had a serious problem with lice when we first detected them. Three of us had lice: myself, my 10 year old daughter and my 12 year old son. My daughter and I have long thick hair. We had been told by friends that the only way to get rid of the lice was to use a pesticide-based shampoo to kill the live bugs and then to pick out the individual nits one by one. Inspection and individual picking was thought to be needed because the plastic combs provided in the shampoo products are ineffective. Since my husband did not have the patience or skill to do the work, I went to a professional nitpicking service. The service used this comb and said it was the best one available. The process they used was to first spray the hair with a mixture of water and hair conditioner until it is damp, but not dripping. This makes the hair slippery enough to allow the comb to get through. Then the professional nit picker methodically combed through all the hair one small area at a time, wiping the foamy conditioner residue on a paper towel between comb throughs. By examining the foamy residue, she could see whether any nits or live bugs were removed. The entire process took a little more than an hour on my thick long hair. The service did not advocate using any pesticide based shampoo. They said the toxic shampoo products are dangerous and unnecessary.
Other key pieces of info: newly hatched lice cannot lay new eggs until they have been hatched for 7 days. Therefore, you have 6 to 7 days to remove all the nits, once the live bugs are removed. The service also advocated using olive oil covered by a shower cap overnight to kill the live bugs. I am not sure how important this is if you do a good job of removing the live bugs and nits methodically with the comb and conditioner. Also, if your child has very thin hair, the tines of the comb may not be close enough together to get out the nits. In this case, the service advocated sprinkling baking powder on the hair after the conditioner is applied to thicken it up to the point where nits can be removed. One last point: we tried one of the "non toxic" enzyme based treatments that purport to dissolve the nit glue. One example on Amazon is Lice Eliminating Natural Shampoo, All Natural, Non-Toxic, Nit Free with Foam Applicator Kit. This can be used instead of, or in addition to the conditioner. I think it did help reduce the force needed to get the nits out and also stunned the live bugs making it easier to get them out with the comb.

GREAT PRODUCT,

I am a foster parent. Five siblings came to live with us in June. They have had head lice for years. After 5 or 6 lice treatments I didn't know what to do. they just kept coming back. Then I started searching for help on the internet and discovered this comb. I had been using the cheap plastic combs that come with the treatments. I never knew that metal combs even existed. The bottom line is that the lice are finally gone. I just combed through the kids hair every few days, each time finding fewer and fewer nits. now i find nothing. I can't recommend this comb highly enough.

Professional NitPicker Secret,

I just paid [...] per hour to have a "professional" nit-picker de-louse me. She used this comb with white hair conditioner (any brand will do). She combed thru my hair for 40 minutes, my daughters' for an hour. I paid [...] total. She would comb with this tool then wipe and spread the conditioner on a papertowel, so we could see the lice and nits (eggs). For the last 15 mins she captured no lice or nits. You MUST comb from all directions. Do this 3x per week for 30 mins; 2x with conditioner, 1x with olive oil (let it sit for 5 hours). You'll be lice/nit free. You should do this comb through with conditioner once a month till 8th grade. She sells this comb for [...] and her desperate clients buy it. Get it here and have it handy for that day you feel the itch, or get it here if you have the problem now. She swears by this comb. No useless toxic chemicals used. You must remove the nits because the toxic chemicals don't work. Profit from my experience and save yourself a bundle.

Lice recently became the bane of my existence. We used a drugstore pesticide shampoo and it was useless. So we moved on to the prescription option, Ovide. We think it killed everything, but there were still nits all over our daughter's hair. It's likely that they were dead anyway, but it would only take two of them surviving to start the infestation all over again. Bottom line, no matter what treatment you use it's necessary to get all the nits out. The comb that came with the first treatment was as useless as the treatment itself, and my husband was spending hours picking nits with a pair of tweezers, but no matter how many he picked out, there always seemed to be more. And boy are they tiny.
Based on the positive reviews on Amazon, I ordered this comb and paid through the nose for overnight delivery. I hoped and prayed that it would work as well as people said it would. Thank goodness, it did. My husband had just "finished" his tweezer treatment on our daughter's hair when the Terminator arrived. A quick run through her hair pulled out a good fifteen nits he had missed with the tweezers. So we took turns combing her with the Terminator and geeking out over the number of nits it was catching. Eventually it started coming out clean with every pass. At that moment I could have kissed the feet of whomever invented this thing. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

After fighting lice for numerous months with both kids (they kept passing it back and forth) I was at my wits end using the OTC harsh chemicals and combs that failed to remove the nits. It was extremely frustrating, expensive, time consuming and the kids practically ran when they saw me taking the comb out. I searched on the internet and came across this comb. It only had a few reviews, but the spiral tines made sense to get the nits out. GET THIS COMB IF YOU HAVE KIDS!!! I cannot say enough about this comb. It says you can use on dry hair, but I sprayed my daughters hair and it seemed easier to comb through. It was amazing! Lice and nit free after I was done. I will continue to do a quick run through after each hair wash as a precaution, but know the lice won't be back. You won't be disappointed. I know the price seems a little high for a comb, but if I would have bought this before the RX treatments, I literally would have saved about $200. Get this comb.

This comb is THE answer for head lice,

When we found out my grandson had head lice a couple of weeks ago, my daughter did the chemical hair wash treatment. I knew the treatment would have to be repeated at least once, and since I'm uncomfortable with chemicals, I did some research on the internet.
I found the electronic Robi-Comb and this Nit Free Terminator had the best reviews, so I got both. The Robi-Comb arrived first, and when we tried it, I was initially impressed. It did comb out some very tiny lice, but after a couple of days it stopped working. Then we received this comb, the Nit Free Terminator, and I was totally amazed to see what the Robi-Comb missed, much of which I believe was nits. I can't say for certain this comb gets every single nit off every single hair strand, but considering the life stages of lice, I am not concerned. After an egg is attached to the hair strand, it takes about a week for it to hatch. Then there is about another week before the nymphs can lay eggs. If you discover you have head lice and use this comb every day until nothing else comes out, then use it two or three times a week to remove any bugs that might have hatched, you will be lice free. The nits (eggs) will slide off the hair shaft easier if you first wet all the hair with distilled vinegar, cover the head with a plastic shower cap or wrap in saran wrap and leave it on for an hour. Remove the cap, comb through with a regular comb to remove tangles, then comb through with the Nit Free comb, wiping it off after every pass or swishing it in a bowl of water. The vinegar dissolves the glue that holds the nits on the hair, plus the vinegar helps the comb glide through the hair. After sufficient combing, wash the hair as usual. Even if you miss a nit and the thing hatches, using this comb religiously will eventually eliminate the lice problem. And regarding treating your house or your carpet, please don't use poisonous sprays. Just wash your bedding in hot water, dry in a hot dryer and do some vacuuming, but don't stress about it. A live louse can only live about 2 days without a blood meal, and an egg can't hatch without the warmth from your head. As long as it isn't in contact with you, it won't live long. And as long as you're using the comb, if a live one does get in contact with you, you will be combing it out. Three ladies in New York have opened several lice removal salons, and they use this exact same comb. You can find them on YouTube by searching for fairylicemothers (all one word). From now on, I will never recommend chemicals or any other treatment besides this comb. I'm convinced it is ALL you need, and I'm informing everyone I know about the Nit Free Terminator.

Who wants to write a review about a Lice comb??,

I'm an OLD RN and grandma and a Nit Free Terminator now! I never had to deal with lice in my family before. My grand-daughter had lice her other grandma said...can't go to day care. Who's afraid of lice enough to not take care of a grandkid...not me? On weekly visits I would treat her with over the counter non toxic treatments and comb and comb with the enclosed combs and see no nits (maybe I am blind)...and occasionally a few lice. Her main caregiver was combing her 2X a day pulling nits off when she wasn't here. All reported that nothing had been found for over a week. But I was paranoid...and bought this new Nit comb called Nit Free Terminator. Yesterday she visited. I decided to try it out...OMG!! I stopped counting at 50 adult lice!! This comb pulled out lice I couldn't see on her head!! OKAY...so I am paranoid...but at least I feel a bit better knowing I have the Nit Free comb. I'm buying a few more to give to the other grandmas!! Won't they all be happy??
