4.0 out of 5 stars Sci-Fi about the Age of the Machines, December 10, 2011
The artwork on this was great and the storyline was interesting, even if not entirely meshing with what I've seen of the movies. A good book.

This review is from: Terminator: Salvation Movie Prequel (Paperback)
There is not much to note in the prequel editon of the Terminator:salvation series. I had high hopes for IDW because they do some really expert work on a lot of diffrent lines, but this seemed to fall through the cracks. Sadly it does some work on trying to do something but it does not seem to have the ability to go beyond what treasers the movie offers. You can really tell it has its hands tied.

Another thing I did not like it the fact that I expected a little more on the Terminator front. I know the T-600 is running amok and there are other lines we see, but these ar enot showcased that much. Before you think that this is because of the movie being followed, there were some other prequels put out. amongst them was the Machina seies and the Terminator novelization prequel, and both at least tried to lay foundations. To the "movie" credit, it did use T-70s and some other Terminators to tease you. The book also mentioned the fact that T-400s are outdated and that the T-600 and HK are strategy options and played out how that worked. In both of those you had an idea of the skynet scope. Here you feel a little of both sides and a little of none, not really caught in a struggle between them but in a struggle to compress pieces of movie hype into pages.

It could have been more.

If stoory of other options do not really matter, then art might. It was not a thing I would invest myself in, and i hate saying this. I love my T-series stuff, too much sometimes, but bad is ultimately bad. Not much else to say expect thank you for reading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Amateurish effort, May 29, 2009
This review is from: Terminator: Salvation Movie Prequel (Paperback)
This is a poorly scripted prequel. The storyline which is ill-served by the artwork is very weak, with patchwork resistance groups and their multi-plots inadequately weaved together except via sat-link. The extremely poor development of the characters and their cheesy dialogue before they are finally killed off is amateurishly done, and I am surprised that this effort is associated with such a major relaunch of the Terminator Movie franchise. Don't waste your money on this turkey.
