When it comes to almost uncanny character likenesses, amazingly-realistic paint finishes, and bizarre accessories, the movie tie-in action figures put out by McFarlane Toys™ are among the elite (if not THE elite) of the 'realistic' toy collectibles market! The T-800 Endoskeleton™ Movie Maniac™ figure is a pretty good showcase of McF's greatest attributes in the realm of collectible toys. This scaled-down bare-bones Terminator™'s likeness to the real deal is incredibly true-to-life! The detailed paint finish shows all the highlights and detail that make this miniature cybernetic killer look (un)believably realistic! The only downside: the chrome metal parts didn't have quite as shiny a finish as I'd prefer. I also got a kick out of the working hip-joint and elbow-joint pistons, adding another nice touch of authenticity to the toy! There are a few downsides to this collectible, however. Like most McFarlane Toys™ action figures, this one's constructed more for show (either boxed or *GASP!* loose) than it is for play, and isn't very durable. And like a previous reviewer observed, the "Phased Plasma Rifle in the 40-watt range" is pretty dinky in proportion to the figure. Check out the size of the heaters the T-800™s are luggin' around during T2™'s opening "future war" sequence and you'll see what the true scale of the weapon should be... As for "educational value": other than being an object lesson in mankind's ability to mold plastics into just about any form you can imagine, I don't think this'll help you much as a study aid. Class dismissed! `Late

Best toy ever...,

This thing is almost scary when it comes to looking like the real thing. It is not only the most accurate Endoskeleton for under $15, but the articulation is incredible as well. The shoulders are fully flexible, the elbows bend, the legs and knees bend front and back too. the head moves side to side and the waste can twist too. It can lean up and down, rotate the wrists and ankles, and ALL OF THE PISTONS ACTUALLY MOVE. You'll become fascinated just watching the pistons expand and contract. Balance is great too; it's almost impossible to tip it over. Seeing everything in operation make perfect sense, and can be educational too. If they don't have nightmares first, kids will definatly learn something about pistons. In fact, I wouldn't get this for children who get scared easly or play rough with their toys. Even though I haven't broken mine, it's not very solid, though it isn't flimsy either. It was probably meant to be a collectible.

I just recieved my Terminator Endoskeleton today and I must say that IT ROCKS!!! I was so happy when it came. Delevery was less then a week, I think. But anyway...The figure is very accurate in detail, I also have a Collectors Classic 12 inch endoskeleton, and this smaller McFarlane version has much more detail and much more articulation. I love how the hips, neckand chest are all so flexibe. And I like the wires in the shoulders, it was a great touch EXCEPT...The wires connecting into the shoulders un-attached very easily, so I will fix that with superglue.

Man, I have to say that this is the greatest movie maniac figure ever. As far as detail, the detail is great. This is definately the greatest T-800 endoskeleton that I have ever seen. I used to have a famous covers endoskeleton and this one is even more detailed than that one! As for educational value, I was really amazed when I looked at it and saw that the pistons actually move! You can scare the crap out of little ones, and teach them about pistons! As far as duribility goes, I wouldn't reccomend this for ones who play rough with their toys, as it can break pretty easily. All and all, I would definately give this figure a 5 out of 5. It is very detailed and great for Terminator fans (like me) or, for people who love cool robots. I went through a heck of a time getting mine. They are pretty popular. So, get them while they're still out there!

With the help of crome metalizer,a little buffing,a few more coats and more buffing with a dremel, you can get a mirror finish where you can almost see your reflection in the figure.I have made it look exactly like the movie endo,,,mounted it on a base with super glue and it looks incredible. I hope they do an 18" version of this one,the only problem is it can break very easily so be careful how far you bend the arms and legs or they will snap off. other than that,, a definate 5 star figure

This is it. If you are a fan of Terminator, ... even if you're not and you just like cool robot toys, this is the one! This thing is in a word, beautiful. Unlike other McFarlanes, this guy is actually very posable. This thing looks exactly like the T-800 Endoskeleton from the flicks. I swear. The coloration is perfect. A black washed, dark silver. The eyes have that deep penetrating red dot and to top it all, the teeth are actually colored a stained white! Each joint on the arms, legs and torso has at least one associated piston, that functions! The hydraulic lines around the head and shoulders are flexible. Man, it's awesome. The detail on the head is so incredible I still don't believe this thing only costs ten bucks. The extras are a pile of skulls to stand on and a card display. Only gripes are the gun is too small and the feet are a little too big (these are very minor). Bottom line with this figure: Get it now! Do not wait. They won't stay around for long. I may buy a couple more and make my own Terminator army! Nuff said.

After seeing the T2 products from last year's Movie Maniacs, I was disappointed that there was no endoskeleton among them. This year, that changed. The endoskeleton has gotten its best representation since the vinyl kits of ten years ago, hard to find Japanese kits, and a clunky Kenner action figure. The mold is just spot-on accurate and the articulation is superb; all the pistons in the legs and arms move for a touch of realism. The surface is gritty for that battle-worn look, but its only fault is the puny gun; otherwise it's a great sculpt and an excellent study in mechanical design.

Good construction for a collector. Detail is clear with included weapon. Brings back memories from the film series. Not durable for younger children play.

Without hesitation I'd have to say that this is the best reproduction of ANY character that I have ever seen. The fact that the arm and hip joints actually piston when moved just blows me away. For the price and the extraordinary level of detail this toy is nothing short of a small miracle. ...

I recently paid about $80 for this item and was not impressed with the product I received. I purchased the 10" version of the T-600 from Target for $20 and was more impressed with with the item. I would only recommend it to someone that collects these items and doesn't plan on displaying it. As far as the detail, the manufacture detailed the item very well. However, the hands and fingers are very fragile and could break off. I displayed the product with my other robots and transformers; I suppose that I will keep it.
