My 8 year old son just got this for his birthday and it is the coolest toy. My husband I think enjoyed it more than my son. It can take a beating! He had it going through corn fields, on hilly land, in the water, down the street, in the sand and it only suffered one little scratch. He runs it until the battery dies every time. Definetly an enjoyed toy. Hopefully it the amusment doesn't wear off. He's looking forward to doing it in the snow.

Santa brought the terrainic RC to my little boys ages 8 and 10...Oh my Gosh they screamed Christmas Morning when they opened the box! It was what they had dreamed about after seeing the commercial. I did my homework and read consumer reviews and Amazons reviews and all made this a perfect gift. Its not educational other than focusing on knowing it can surely ride in our ditches and then over mud holes..but it puts the children outside having a blast!
I recommend this toy highly.
Only downfall was the fender broke off of one of the toys but no big deal.
Cool Cool Cool....

We gave this to our grandson (5)for Christmas, it turns out to be the best gift ever! He smashes it into everything and it keeps going. Highly recommend additional battery pack for continuous play. Very fun for all of our kids from 4 yr(who chases it), 7yrs(races his car against it), 11 yrs (who is really good at driving it) and parents who love their fun.

Okay let me tell you first that I am 27 years old and bought this for a xmas gift but got tempted to try it having it in my closet....this thing is fast!!! As far as the snow goes....havent tried it, it does get stuck in the grass. However the speed and amount of fun that this thing does on pavement alone without having tried sand or water yet...i think is worth it. Its awesome to do spin outs with and its soo fast that my rusty hands drove it into car tires and such and it looks like it can take a beating. I am usually more of a expensive gas remote control car but for a battery car this thing is pretty rockin. Not sure how fast it will be in the water just looking at the way the wheel is i can assume its fast enough for smaller kids but isnt your speedboat...however just the fact that you can run it around ditches and have it blast across the water to the other side has potential...even though i have not tried it yet. The only thing I would say is that you need a pretty good space for this one...its not your play in the living room or kitchen slow remote control....this thing hauls across quick and needs open space to not totally bang everything in sight :) Good buy if you ask me...and i havent even put it in water or sand yet....assuming the snow is a no go from the other reviews but still going to try :)

My six year old received this for Christmas 2007. He enjoys it so far though we've not had too many opportunities to use it since there is so much snow outside. Although it says that it goes through anything; it will not go through too much snow. A little on the driveway it can handle but not much more. It has tons of speed so you need some open space to use it. Will add more follow up info. as we use it in other types of weather.

My 9 year old son wanted this toy sooo bad for Christmas. Well, he got it, and was probably the happiest kid on the block. He took it outside to drive it in the snow, (because it says it will go in the snow) and it kept getting stuck. However, the snow was the hard icy kind not the soft fluffy kind. Anyway, I think he has played with it a total of 3 times and it has just been sitting in our garage collecting dust. For some reason he just doesn't find it as cool as he thought it was going to be.

My son could barely wait for xmas to receive this toy. It's lots of fun and very fast with great twisting and turning ability. The range is pretty far, we have had it about plus 60 feet out. The only downside is the battery life is only about 20 minutes before another 4 hour charge is needed.

This was purchased as a gift for a young man who had seen it on TV and it was about the only thing he talked about wanting for Christmas. He has enjoyed it immensely. To bad the battery life isn't longer between chargings. I felt it was greatly over-priced....but, whatcha gonna do? It was to make a young man very happy! Who can put a price on that?

My son received the terraniac from Santa and we promptly tried it out on Christmas day. We also found that it did not work in the snow at all, and not even well on the wet grassy areas in the yard where the snow had melted. It literally has no traction. As my son said " I guess this is a summer toy". For the price, I also expected a year round toy!

My son received this a while ago, and he still has it. He does not play with it as much as he used to, but there are times he won't turn it off. It does travel to more places than a regular RC car would. I think that is why he likes it do much.
