The Man is like a Fine Wine. He just gets better with time.,

Dick is a modest man. He just plugs in his axe and goes. While others are trying to hype themselves into immaculate conception, Dick Dale looks down to them, saying,"You call that thrashing?!" When I first played the CD and heard the tribal chants, I knew I was in for a ride. This CD isn't just a wave-riding piece of plastic. It's a Tsunami! His version of Hava Nagila is the coolest!

You hear his music in movies (too many to mention), hockey games (Colorado Avalanche), and even in theme parks (Space Mountain in Disney), but it does not compare to owning this album on your own. It starts with "Scalped", a fast thrash of the guitar, you quickly get into the groove with this song. It moves on to other fast tunes that leave you breathless. "Ghostriders in the Sky" is incredible and is my favorite song. I highly recommend this to any music lover.

This album is a great introduction to the man known as the King of the Surf Guitar. Big, fat, reverb-soaked, machine-gun notes blow out of the speakers letting you know this is no ordinary listening adventure. Dick Dale's music at it's best is more like witnessing a force of nature than just "listening to some tunes". As soon as I heard the intro to "Ring of Fire" to see if it was the Johnny Cash tune I knew I was hooked. Essential listening for anyone needing some music that can turn a mood from bummed to better. If you like instrumental surf music this is essential, to say the least. If you think of the Beach Boys when you hear the term "surf music" you should buy this album and consider getting out more.
