Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Hunt and Hunsinger have the military and political backgrounds to make their first effort together a great page-turning experience. Colonel David Gibson, a retired special-ops officer, drops his mom off at Logan Airport in Boston while Christina Marchetti, a political consultant, is dropping off her sister. The pair’s relatives are on the same plane, and shortly after it leaves the tarmac, it stops on the runway. The airport quickly closes down, and the colonel and Marchetti start working together to save their loved ones from deadly hijackers. But the plane is only a small part of a much larger plan to instill fear and chaos into the U.S. citizenry. With the narrative jumping back and forth between the two protagonists, the colonel and Marchetti must use their different skills and connections to stop the conspiracy. The relentless pacing and full-bodied characters make Terror Red a must for thriller fans. Readers will be clamoring for a sequel. --Jeff Ayers

The book arrived this week. I heard Col. David Hunt describe if for Bill O"Reilly and decided to give it a read. It is fast-paced, definitely entertaining. I have been watching Col. Hunt's gravel-voiced analysis on Fox for years, and this book doesn't disappoint. Of course I like to read about good-guy heroes whacking terrs while the legal authorities fumble around with great vigor.

The authors trade points of view through the story which reminds me of Rick Riordan in the way it is handled. "David" and "Christine". Amazing it is set in Boston and comes out the week after the Marathon Bombing.

The "gear queers" will like David's commentary about weapons and techniques...

I commend any first time authors. God Bless you and your future titles.

1. Fast read. And the Colonel obviously has been there, done that, has the scars and bars. But ...

2. It was a difficult read because of the female counterpoint. Grinding my teeth over her stupid, sophomoric attitudes by the first 1/4 of the book. Actively wanted to rip her pages out of my copy the further into her juvenile, moronic stupidity the book forced me to endure. Rarely have I been so aggravated by a character.

3. Plausible scenario ... the massive 'terrorist incident' as cover for the actual event. And the inability of our federal agencies to recognize and deal with it hits all the right notes. I'd hazard a guess Colonel Hunt is letting more than a little steam off in this novel.

God Bless our men who, in the dark and unknown, do those things which let us enjoy the lives we have.

This is exactly what I was looking for...fast-paced, interesting, compelling characters, and believable. A really awesome ride. The current climate is certainly ready for a story like this.

Colonel David Hunt knows his topic from decades of serving the United States in the military. This is a can't put down thriller, topical, exciting and all too plausible. His co-author knows her stuff and writes extraordinarily well. I definitely recommend it as a thriller and as a warning for possible terror threats from Radical Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood. Political correctness needs to land in the dust bin immediately.

Great characterization! So easy to distinguish who is saying what without being told...and it is joyfully obvious that Christina's script was written by the co-author, a woman, for Christina sounds so like a woman would in dangerous circumstances...her comments and actions will often have you laughing on the floor! Likewise, it's obvious the character of Col. Gibson was created by the co-author Col. Hunt. Excellent dialogue! I couldn't put this novel down, enjoying the action, the plot, and certainly the characters!

I liked the interaction between the two main characters. The dialog was quick. It was an enjoyable read. I hope the authors follow with another story about the David and Christina.
