4.0 out of 5 stars Nice thrash metal...
I enjoy listening to every single song of this album, 'cause TERROR 2000 is just a matter of having a good time. It seems they had a lot of fun making this record, something which was translated to the music. What can you expect from song names such as "Wrath of the cookie monster", "Satans Barbecue", "King Kong Song" or "Liquor saved me from sports" ?...Nothing too...

I remember hearing the first Terror 2000 album and having great hopes for a technical death metal masterpiece to follow. The third album, Terror For Sale is pretty much a 80's retrogression while having the worst lyrics possible. Also, Speed's voice is very low now instead of the "speed" he had to his voice in the previous albums. One more thing, the production is very different which gives you the feeling that this was really an 80's garage band. Plus they attempt to do high power metal shrieking, which I don't really like.

Some good things about this is that the musicianship is pretty good although their sound change is very dissapointing. Also, they manage to pull of some Swedish guitar riffs and solos AND 80's american metal at the same time.

I think you should get this album if you are into this kind of stuff. But death metal is for me.

I enjoy listening to every single song of this album, 'cause TERROR 2000 is just a matter of having a good time. It seems they had a lot of fun making this record, something which was translated to the music. What can you expect from song names such as "Wrath of the cookie monster", "Satans Barbecue", "King Kong Song" or "Liquor saved me from sports" ?...Nothing too serious...ja ja!

TERROR 2000 features singer "Speed" Strid (also in Soilwork, Disarmonia Munid, Coldseed), Klas Ideberg (Darkane, The Defaced) and Erik Thyselius (Construcdead) among others. TERROR 2000 can be consider as a true side-project, 'cause it's musically different from what any of the members are actually doing in their own bands...They play some kind of crazy-full throttle-thrash metal...so, expect 10+ songs at a 100 miles per hour...Not too many solos nor subtleties...Nothing too complex, just thrash as hard and fast as they can...

Back to the album...

TERROR FOR SALE is the "least serious" of their three records. You can tell that by the song titles. Also, "Speed" Strid takes some licenses with the vocals doing funny choruses and arrangements...And if you read the lyrics...well...that's funny...

Harsh vocals, blazin guitar riffs, and pounding drums make "Terror For Sale" a very decent thrash album...It takes many listens to tell the difference between songs...

But that's TERROR 2000, take it or leave it.

I personally love this kind of albums, with no strings attached, in which the music seems to flow naturally, and the musicians play really loose, expanding their minds to even try the most ridiculous arrangements, something that most bands won't. And what is more important, you can tell they had a lot of fun doing it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Tongue-in-cheek thrash played by All Stars, August 29, 2006

I love thrash metal, and I especially love the Swedish variety. Terror 2000 play straight forward euro thrash that, due to its member status (I can't recall the exact details, but Terror 2000 features members or ex-members of Soilwork and Darkane), combines elements of the aforementioned parenthetical bands to provide some stripped down but skillfully and energetically performed metal. The music is blazingly fast, comparable in this respect to Carnal Forge in its relentlessness, and more than quenches my ongoing thirst for new thrash.

The vocals are what stands out the most on this album, which at times can be both good and bad. There is plenty of typical screaming work going on highly reminicient of Soilwork's vocal patterns, but at times the vocalist employs some Kreator-esque melody work and Slayer shrieks, with more or less success. There are a few moments of awkwardness in the lyrics with lines such as 'I want to hit your face with a baseball' and something about chocolate icecream, but seeing as how killer the music is I haven't found it hard to forgive the goofy parts of this album. Heck, it's even nice to hear some metal with a sense of humor.

The recording is a bit thin for my tastes but clear nonetheless. All the musicians are obviously talented and this, of course, makes sense because they've all been, or are still currently, involved in big metal outfits. If you're hungry for new thrash and enjoy Darkane, Carnal Forge, Soilwork (mainly their older stuff), and the like, check these guys out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bang yA HEad, January 8, 2006
This review is from: Terror for Sale (Audio CD)
These guys have proven themselves as powerful minds as muscians in their respective bands, this is definately a step forward for this side project, of course their mainstream bands have more success, but this project isnt about payment, at least not in cash form, the paoff here is that they are having fun, each some is pure F**** metal, 'Speed' shows off his many voices on this album his range has got to be the best for sweedish metal, from high pitched screams to guteral punches to raspy snake bites, just listen to track 2 and if youre not impressed then dont bother, this is pure fun for all. all who love metal that is. side note, it really captures 80s thrash as if its still strong.

Thrash metal at it's best!!! The lyrics are not good through out, but the music is incredible!! This guys are great musicians, from bands like Darkane, Soilwork among others. If you like thrash metal with a sense of humor in the lyrics, give this a try!!!
