Review excerpts from the out-of print version:

"I made an eerily fun discovery when I picked up a chapbook called Terror in Small Doses by John Grover. It is thin (about 44 pages) and contains six short stories written by John Grover. The stories are entertaining and range from the supernatural to the more realistic. There is no overall theme that connects this collection, except the stories are moody, suspenseful, well written and damn fun." -Benjamin Boulden for

"John Grover, co-author of Space Stations and Grave Yards, and author of the forthcoming book A Beckoning of Shadows, is a talented young author whose work is fresh and original. Terror in Small Doses is a worthy effort showcasing his unique vision of darkness." -Shannon Riley for Horror World

5.0 out of 5 stars A Spoonful of Horrors October 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
John Grover resurrects a fine tome that will make you peer over your shoulder while you digest these stories late at night... in the night... in the dark. From a lonely woman, not-so-alone in a neighborhood of darkness, to a silent being who thirsts for your arrival in its nesting ground, to a heartless magician who conjures up nightmare beings for his own entertainment, and best of all, a final tale set at a children's party that will leave you with goosebumps. Grover's best quality is that his stories resonate with his readers, long after they've finished them. His twisted tales force you to witness glimpses into the darker side, sometimes taking you into the minds of evil, and it's hard to shake the visuals he leaves you with. Sit back, begin the journey and take a spoonful of these horrors before bed. You'll feel better in the morning. In the light....

Terror In Small Doses is a remarkable short story collection. Within these six stories, John Grover weaves tales that are not only exceptionally well written, but also creepy and atmospheric - two important qualities in horror fiction. Highly recommended!

Terror in Small Doses is a great little collection of well-crafted, creepy horror/dark fiction. This is how fiction is done, folks. Mr. Grover's talent is evident within these pages and his knowledge of what makes people look over their shoulders on a dark lonely night is readily apparent. Pick this up and I promise you won't be disappointed, scared, yes, but not disappointed :)
