5.0 out of 5 stars TS: Lyrical Heavyweights April 1, 2000
By Matt
Format:Audio CD
This album is hottt! Terror Squad shows they are one of the best crews in rap along with Wu-Tang and Mobb Deep. All six members come to the table fully loaded. They held nothing back on this album. On "Whatcha Gon do" Pun blasts away imitators and fakes. Joe calls out haters on "Bring It On". The young members of The Squad prove they are going to rule the game one day when people actually listen to them. Armageddon is gonna blow away those who haven't heard him yet. His material is so imaginative but his force makes it real. Cuban Link flows like water over the tracks. Prospect's "99 Live" should be an anthem anywhere there is true rap. Seis' "War" just bangs in your head. The only thing wrong with this album was that the whole Squad only performed together on one track "Pass the Glock". The most surprising tracks were "Rudeboy Salute", "I Know This Girl", "99 Live" and "Payin Dues". "Rudeboy Salute" featured Joe and Pun along with Buju Banton the rasta gangsta. The three different styles just mesh together to pound out one blazin track. "I Know This Girl" featured Cuban Link along with the Squad's R&B affiliate Tony Sunshine. The song's about 2 girls, 1's a sex freak and 1's a drug runner. On "99 Live" Prospect comes hard over a bangin beat. "Payin Dues" had Armageddon trading blows with Keith Nut. This was probably my favorite track. The chorus is hot. The rhymes are as tight as they come. Armageddon lays down a miracle of a beat. If you want an album with no intros, outros or skits, with only hardcore rap and a little tight r&b you can't do any better than Terror Squad The Album. Forget what haters are saying about Joe, Pun, and the Squad, put it in your car and ride for a couple hours.

4.0 out of 5 stars THE ORIGINAL TERROR SQUAD. September 30, 2005
Format:Audio CD
It is a shame when you think about it, the original terror squad which consisted of Fat Joe,Big Pun,Cuban Link,Prospect,Armaggedon,Triple Seis and Tony Sunshine were in my opinion a serious up and coming group, their album is full of great tracks which did not stray from their formula of hard mobb deep type beats and hardcore rhymes. Pun is to no surprise the star on this album, his rhyming abilty outclasses everyone but saying that both Cuban Link and Armaggedon showed great promise that even after puns death these two could have held it together as serious rhymers;Prospect and Triple seis both put in a decent effort while it is clear that Tony Sunshine has a great singing voice. Fat Joe on the other hand is quite hit an miss but he was never that potent rhymer to begin with. The new TS unfortunatly due to a falling out within the group Cuban Link and Triple seis both left replacing them remy ma now represents part of the new terror squad which is just a shadow of it's former self. on the whole if you liked big puns debut album you may like this but if you bought the second TS album first and is expecting to hear another album with tracks like their single lean back then forget it, this is for hardcore hip hoppers only.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terror Squad- Terror Squad July 31, 2003
By Done
Format:Audio CD
Terror Squad's first and only album is a gem worth having in the collection. Terror Squad at the time consisted of rappers Fat Joe, Big Punisher, Cuban Link, Prospect, Armageddon and Triple Seis. This release came out in 1999, and since then Big Pun has died (R.I.P.), and the squad has split up with some members going different routes (Cuban Link starting his own label CLK Entertainment, and Triple Seis has left as well). Fat Joe continues to lead Terror Squad but its a much different group, and so far the only music out from it in the last four years has been Fat Joe solo albums. TS member and R & B singer Tony Sunshine is also featured on this release, and drops some nice vocals and chorus'. Fat Joe, Rob Tewlow, Greg Angelides & Craig Kallman handle executive producion. Alot of the beats on this are excellent with production coming from the likes of Alchemist, Buckwild, Young Lord, Jugrnaut & Yogi. Albums first track is the piano laced "In For Life" a powerful thugged out track where the TS comes out raw. "Pass the Glock" features all six members in a deadly collabration. Fastpaced "99 Live" has Prospect leading and is banging. Big Pun comes across very nicely solo on "Whatcha Gon Do?". Triple Seis comes out hard on "War" then Fat Joe tears it up on "Bring It On". My favourite track is without a doubt "As the World Turns" a track where Cuban Link absolutely shines and one where Tony Sunshine drops an exceptional chorus. This track opened my eyes to CL's lyrical ability, and now with his half brother Pun gone he is in my opinion the best latin hip hop rapper out. A hungry Armageddon comes out nicely on "Gimme Dat". "All Around the World" has Cuban talking about the ladies, drugs and street life. "Tell Me What U Want" is a laid back R & Bish track. Read more ›

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Pun wrote the whole CD but..... July 19, 2005
Format:Audio CD
It's very obvious when listening to this CD that Big Pun wrote the majority, if not the whole, album lyrically. That being said, it's not like anyone can't keep up with the flows he had in mind when he wrote the verses --- so it works. The beats on this cd are all real nice too.
