4.0 out of 5 stars Westside Connection- Terrorist Threats
Westside Connection's (Ice Cube, Mack 10, WC) second album is "Terrorist Threats" (2003). Believe it or not it has been seven years since there last album "Bow Down". This release is 14 tracks long with two multimedia additions. After a short intro, "Call 9-1-1" gets things started well, like the chorus says this ones a banger. Awile back...

3.0 out of 5 stars Westside doin' it Again
"Terrorist Threats" is full of "bangers" and starts off really strong. The first 8-9 songs are very catchy and are potential hits. The rapping skill of Ice Cube, Mack 10 & WC have not reached a new level, but they still deliver some incredible verses. The only problem with this release is that as the album progresses towards the end, the songs...

4.0 out of 5 stars Westside Connection- Terrorist Threats, December 9, 2003
This review is from: Terrorist Threats (Audio CD)
Westside Connection's (Ice Cube, Mack 10, WC) second album is "Terrorist Threats" (2003). Believe it or not it has been seven years since there last album "Bow Down". This release is 14 tracks long with two multimedia additions. After a short intro, "Call 9-1-1" gets things started well, like the chorus says this ones a banger. Awile back first track I heard off this album on the radio was "Gangsta Nation" feat. Nate Dogg, this is a memorable cut and my favourite at the moment. Westside Connection and Nate Dogg collabrate well on the lead single. Next couple of cuts dont really standout that much for me, maybe with more play they will. "So Many Rappers in Love" definitely does standout though, this a track where Westside Connection tears into MC's who used to act gangsta, fake thugs, and those who overuse R & B collabrations. While some people might think this is hating, I see it just as them expressing there views on how the games changed and how some rappers change there styles to get mainstream appeal. Westside Connection is basically sick of the never ending amount of R & B/Rap collabrations out these days on the radio and are speaking out about it. Backed by a nice beat and a exceptional chorus Westside Connection delivers a great track with "You Gotta Have Heart" a cut about surviving and thriving in the game. The title track "Terrorist Threats" has the connection dropping some more hardcore rhymes backed by a pounding beat. The closing track is "Superstar" (Double Murder = Double Platinum), a track where Westside Connection talks about the industry, media and how being shot or having a criminal record can make selling units easier regardless of actual skill. By dropping some bangers and not holding back on there opinions on "Terrorist Threats" Westside Connection have delivered a strong album worth checking out.

damn I'm glad westside connection made a comeback this is better than the first cube, wc, and mack 10 has delivered and this is such a relief from the lame crappy love songs I've been hearing from all these stupid rappers who can't decide whether they're thugs or lovers. cube, and mack 10 is tight, and wc gives us more of that crazy flow he's known for I think wc is the best rapper I've heard this millenium can nobody touch his style check out the shadiest one, and ghetto heisman.

banging this whole cd is the best cd I' heard all year and worth the money I hope this brings the west coast some recognition since everybody's riding their straps like jay z, ja rule, camron, nelly, and noreaga copying slang by my man e40 glad that california isn't all about sno, and eminem and 50.

yo 50 cent, g unit, and other new york rappers take notes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Westside doin' it Again, January 24, 2004
This review is from: Terrorist Threats (Audio CD)
"Terrorist Threats" is full of "bangers" and starts off really strong. The first 8-9 songs are very catchy and are potential hits. The rapping skill of Ice Cube, Mack 10 & WC have not reached a new level, but they still deliver some incredible verses. The only problem with this release is that as the album progresses towards the end, the songs become less hard and less "gangsta", but rather more melodic and r'n'b like. This, to a certain extend, spoils the overall impression of the album. Still, all songs are worth listening, especially to people with wider tastes in rap. Compared to Westside Connection's previous album, this one is a bit of a lyrical downfall, but is still truly worth your time

5.0 out of 5 stars Westside Slaughter House Baby!, December 11, 2003
This review is from: Terrorist Threats (Audio CD)
First, I Gotta Say It's Been A While Since This Group Of Three Has Come Out With A CD Together. Second I Gotta Say That This Is What Hip-Hop Needs. I Dont Know About Some Of The Queers That Gave This CD A Weak Review. U Need To Look At Rap Today And Look At WSC And Pray To God That They Come Out With More S***. I'm Sick Of Fifty, Ja, Lil' Jon, Eminem, DMX, Jay-Z, And All These Othr Commercial Rappers. Finally Some Real Gangsters On The Sceen, And Not The Studio Kind. Who Cares If They Dont Gangbang Ne More, They Can Still Preach Thier Hardcore Gangsta Lyrics. So I Have Nothing But Praise For This CD, And Everyone That Is Hating On Them Go Pop Some Justin Timberlake And Ur CD PLayer And Try Not To Get Ur Panties In A Twist....

Im glad my boys are back because this soft core eastcoast B.S

5.0 out of 5 stars Today's hip hop scene is a joke..., January 6, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Terrorist Threats (Audio CD)
What happened to the good rap? I sure miss the days of 2pac, NWA, and the OLD Snoop Dogg (not the sell out joke he is now). Well at any rate, this CD is the closest thing to good rap anymore so it may be worth your money. Buy it if you miss the old school rap of the late 80's and early 90's. If not, at least listen to song 9 and hear three **REAL** gangstas completely trash the new hip hop scene. This song alone is worth the $12. Also, for the million+ of you who bought the Chingy, Lil Jon, Nelly, or Lil Bow Wow CD, what were you thinking? Don't buy this CD because it doesn't desserve to be in the same CD case as any of them. Please stop supporting the new club, pop like, 13 year old fanbased rap of today. It is horrible.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great album, if not a little flawed, January 27, 2004
This review is from: Terrorist Threats (Audio CD)
The production is great for the most part but there are some tracks that are lacking. "9-1-1" great track by young T.R.E, i love this song everything comes together perfectly possibly the best track on the album, each rapper delivers great lyrics that match the beat and concept. "potential Victims" is another great song if a bit short on the verses. Cube and Mack-10 steal it, WC is solid. To speed things up i'll do it like this......

Gangsta Nation- nice beat, good enough lyrics, WC shines

Get Ignit- nice beat (if a little commercial) nice lyrics by all 3, Mack's verse is probably my fav,

Pimp the system- good beat, nice lyrics, cube shines

dont get outta pocket- okay here's the tricky part. When i first heard this i didn't like it. i hated the beat but liked the lyrics. it's definitely one of those songs that may sound outta place.......unless it grows on you, it did with me. it's still an average beat but i dont skip as much(mostly for the lyrics, all 3 rip it

Izm- nice beat(sounds a little dated though) nice lyrics, cube again, coulda left this one off.....maybe with something more fitting to the "terrorist threats" theme

So many rappers in love- beat is kinda soft for me but i understand why they did it. i love the song nonetheless, i hate fake thugs like Ja-rule......etc. one of my fav's. lyrics are nice too

Light's out- nice beat, nice lyrics, mack-10 shines.....i think, cube is great too

Bangin at the party- hard baseline in this one i like, not for everybody, but still a banger, lyrics are average at best. they coulda left this one off, kinda commercial and dosent really fit, still cool though

You gotta have heart- i like this beat, some good lyrics(2 great verses by ice cube) another fav

terrorist threats- the beat sounds kinda "east coast", something that swiss beats would make, hard baseline though, it's a banger with great verses by all 3

Super star- Cool beat, great lyrics by all 3, cube shines again
I'll Recommend This One....

This is a solid return for Ice Cube,Mack 10 and WC.I'm a huge fan of Westside Connection and NWA!I have every solo album by every solo member of NWA and Westside Connection and I've seen Westside Connection live twice and got the live DVD but I've never seen NWA live (and never will)!Anyway its a superb album with bangers like Call 9-1-1 and Gangsta Nation being the best. Not a bad track here all I can say is if u dont have it now, click the add to cart button and wait for it to arrive.I say its a must buy for anyone who likes real rap like DMX and Ice Cube but if u like Will Smith and Bow Wow,u might be a bit scared to listen to it!Buy it now now now!And to the latest Kids Review this is what I'll say to you:

3.0 out of 5 stars Make No Mistake ... Your Life Has Just Been Threatened, May 31, 2004
By
This review is from: Terrorist Threats (Audio CD)
"I Pledge allegiance to the rag of the United Westside Connection, and to the W, for which it stands, one neighborhood under God, invisible, with luxury And riches for all".

Anyone whoes a real hip hop head knows the pledge of Westside Connection, and with their latest offering, 'Terrorist Threats', the W and their pledge are back with more venom than ever. This is evdient throughout the album, and The Gangsta, The Killa and The Dope Deala are really reviving the west with this and anyone who listens to it along with that.

The lead single, 'Gangsta Nation' with Nate Dogg is amazing and one of the best songs I've heard so far in '04. All three step up to the plate and hit home-runs on this one, with Nate dropping an addictive hook, along with the catchy intro 'Consider this a invatation to my gangsta nation'. 'Potential Victims' is another hot gangsta anthem and is a good reason to keep the album in your changer. However, the best song has to be the Knoc-Turn'al assisted 'Lights Out' where Mack's flow is so perfect. Pure west coast with a hot hook from Knoc. Other hot songs include 'Call 9-1-1', 'Pimp The System', 'Bangin' At The Party' and 'Superstar (Double Murder = Double Platinum)'. The only song I didn't particualy care for was 'So Many Rappers In Love'. This was possibly the most important song on the album and had some good rhymes and a good message but the beat really let the song down.

Mack 10, WC and Ice Cube are tight throughout the album and really do give a healthy offering. I had really high hopes the album, but I found it to be too short and at times repetitive, which didn't give it the spins I'd hoped I'd give it. However, Westside Connection's 'Terrorist Threats' is one of the very few hot gangsta albums for '04, so it's worth a buy. 3.5 stars - 4 stars.

I purchased this cd a couple of days ago and I can't seem to take it out of my cd player. My favorite song on this cd is Lights Out. Knockturnal sounds really cool on this track. I recommend this cd to anyone who likes pure gangsta rap.
