another Peter Cushing classic!,

This is a great little horror movie(a sort of anthology of horror, bookended by one common story), featuring Peter Cushing but not coming from Hammer studios. I'd definitely recommend this. ;^D

Great Amicus classic waiting for a NTSC release,

It seems that only PAL versions of this nice movie are available. I own a PAL version of this film, produced by Filmax Home Video (Spain). It is a widescreen, good analog to digital transfer; English and Spanish audio options, and Spanish subtitles. You can also get an Anchor Bay PAL from Amazon UK at a very cheap price (I don't know this version though).
Overall, while the stories told in this movie are not clearly superior to those of Tales from Crypt or Vault of Horror, the overall screept is. The stories are driven by Peter Cushing (Dr. Terror) and that is an unbeatable plus. These are not gory though, most likely due to the release time difference. |
