I just washed this cover and put it on the Simmons pad for the first time. It either shrunk in the wash or did not fit to begin with. I would think that since Simmons makes the cover AND the changing pad that they might be compatible - but there are no holes to thread the safety straps through... and the tag on the changing pad says "child... should always be restrained with the safety straps". So they are not even supporting their own 'safety' standards.

So now I can't use the 'so important' safety straps unless I get out the sewing machine and make giant button holes, but the cover is too small anyway and practically bends the pad in two. It won't sit flat on the dresser... just adding to the lack of safety!! Just an FYI, the cover actually fits better on the 'Especially for baby' pad - which comes with a knit fabric cover for about the same price.

This pad cover fits the Simmons Contoured Changing pad perfectly and cradles Baby in comfort during changes. You must buy two so that when one's in the wash you have a clean one to put on the pad. I can't imagine changing my baby on a cold, vinyl surface! This terry cloth is soft and comfortable!

what gives?? This thing gets smaller every time I wash it. If I can muster the strength to force it over the ends of my changing pad, it causes the pad to fold up like a taco. Ridiculous!

I have two of these covers for my changing table. After just one washing the cover was slightly smaller, now that my son is 2 months old it has been washed numerous times and it is way too small.

Little boys make messes, I can say it never stained, but now it won't fit the changing pad at all. After 2 months of use this is worthless and I am throwing them away.

I haven't had any problems with this changing pad cover falling apart or not fitting. I have two of them and haven't had any problems with either of them and I have been using them for 7 months now. I wash them with our other towels now but I started out by washing them with his bibs and used only Dreft. I don't do anything special with them now, just wash, fold, and use. They are great! The only problem I have with them is that like all terry products they will fray if picked. My diamond ring is constantly catching on the terry loops and pulling but I solved that problem by taking off my ring. It wasn't just catching on the cover or my bath towels, but also the baby. I had to put it away for awhile. Overall, I'm pleased with the product. For those that said it wasn't soft...it is terry cloth, add some fabric softner for crying out loud!

We purchased one of these before our baby was born along with the Simmons Changing Pad and this thing works GREAT (so does the pad)! I am actually buying two more because my daughter likes having her diaper off a little too much and has had some accidents on the only one we have. Soooo, Mom told me to get two more so she didn't have to wash it so much. Not that the washing matters, this thing has held up GREAT in the wash with no problems (after at least 10 washes)! I'm not sure what machines other peeps are using or what they are washing it with, but my wife throws it in with the towels and it comes out perfect.

Now, the reason for the 5 stars... our daughter Annabelle absolutley LOVES this thing! It must be the terry cloth feel but it's one of the few places I can place her where she is happy for minutes at a time. After changing her and putting on her nightgown, she will lay there for sometimes 15 minutes as I talk to her and get her to smile and talk. It's really turned into a GREAT bonding moment for Dad and daughter and I really think it's the terrycloth. When that's not on there and we just use the vinyl pad, she's never happy, it's almost like she's missing a cuddly stuffed animal or something... all I know is that these special moments I have with my daughter have really meant alot to me and I really don't think they would have happened if it wasn't for her cover... I'm really trying to be serious here, I have no connection to this product and I rarely post my opinion, but I felt several peeps on here were WAY to harsh on this product. As I like to say in the computer world, it must be "user error".

I bought two of these. On the first wash, one of them ripped. The terry cloth looks like it's shredding and separated from the elastic. The cloth also has many "pulls". I haven't even had my baby yet, and I have to return this product. It looked like a great product, but it needs to be better constructed. Very disappointing!

I purchased these covers because there doesn't seem to be anything else to fit the contoured changing pad. Even after just one washing, the cover already shrunk. I washed in cold water and dried on low since I had read the reviews saying they would shrink. It didn't help, they still shrunk. They still work though, but the corners of the changing pad are crumched down. I don't see the problem with the straps either. Mine are attached to the bottom of the pad, so there is no need for any slits for them. Overall, these covers serve their purpose, and that's about all. I would definitely suggest covering your changing pag with SOMETHING so that all the yuck doesn't get down into all the little crevices of the pad. You might prefer covering the pad with a receiving blanket, so you can easily toss it in the washer with no worries when it becomes soiled.

We have several of these in several different colors so we can wash them frequently and always have a clean cover. They've never shrunk or stained and fit/look like new even though they are now 10 months old.

I love my contured Simmons changing pad but I do not like the cover at all. THEY SHRINK. With every wash, the covers have gotten smaller and smaller. The changing pad curves in the middle with the covers on them. The covers are expensive and should not shrink when they are washed. Save your money. Use receiving blankets instead.
